Finding a genuine arcade these days is akin to stumbling across a unicorn. The blanket all-day, all-you-can-play admission fee is a bargain at $10 for what you get. As someone who travels long distances to visit arcades and locally owned retro game stores, I can’t recommend Fireball Arcade enough.
The space isn’t huge but it has a great mixture of game cabinets from mostly the 80s and 90s. I especially appreciated the addition of late 90s titles such as Marvel Vs Capcom and Street Fighter III: Double Impact. I find games from that era often get omitted at other retro arcades in lieu of almost exclusively “golden age” titles like Pac-Man and Galaga. Those 80s games are famous for a good reason, but all the same it’s nice that Fireball has a bit more variety. There’s other stuff such as a foosball table, ski ball lane, and TVs playing music videos from a few decades ago to complement the nostalgic vibe.
The guy who owns and operates the place is super chill. He obviously has a passion for acquiring these old machines and keeping them in good working order.
Check out the photos I added - most of the other photos associated with this place on Google were taken before the owner did a major renovation. The arcade only had a few machines in the beginning and looked a tad barren. Now the space is filled out and looks...
Read moreMy fam had a great time! I wasn't sure if my 9 and 11yo kids would enjoy these old games since they're used to much more complex games, but they were still playing when it was time to go. There were a few games down, and I imagine it's tough to keep these old games functioning. It could use a bit of interior design, but it's a fun little place! It's really nice that you have the option to come and go as you please for the day. It's in a great location with restaurants and shops lining this quaint downtown street. I only saw parallel parking...
Read moreAwesome arcade right in the middle of Main Street Front Royal. 10$ admission for adults, 5$ for kids, unlimited all day play! You can leave and come back as long as you show your hand stamp upon reentry. Awesome games! Dance dance revolution! House of the Dead 2!! A whole wall of pinball machines. Games with 100s of game pages to choose from, literally could not find a better or more fair deal at any arcade. We have had multiple family game nights here and our group grows every time we come back! I can’t recommend this...
