Great meadery on mainstreet Fun interior, bar seating, couches, comfy chairs, and tables. They offer flights, glasses and bottles. Their mead is a little lighter than others I've had though they all had rich layered flavor profiles and a nice finish. Issac, one of the owners, helped us and was awesome! He took the time to tell us about each of the meads, their process and a little about how they got started. I really enjoyed everything we tried and bought a few bottles to bring home. Street parking. What we tried:(descriptions are directly from their tasting notes) *Hopped Strawberry Session This session style is semisweet Hopped with Amarillo and El Dorado hops. Dank hops aroma with a hint of fresh strawberries. Fresh berries and honey on the palate Best enjoyed chilled. *Blackberry Session Fresh blackberry aroma on the nose Clean refreshing blackberry on the palate with a slightly tart finish Best enjoyed chilled. ABV.7% *V(Five Year Anniversary) Black & Blue aged two months in a Portuguese port barrel that aged bourbon rom A Smith Bowman. A full-bodied semi-sweet melomel, with blueberries, black currants, and black pepper. Berries on the nose. Tart up front followed by sweet fruit, rounded out by a hint of black pepper and port. Best enjoyed at room temperature. *Midnight Sun A sweet blood orange melorel. Hopped with Citra and Cascade hops. Hops and citrus on the nose. Bright sweet citrus lead to a slight hoppy bitter finish. Best enjoyed chilled ABV: 12-13% *Helltown Lemonade A semi-sweet capsicumel with lemons and scorpion peppers. Citrus and peppers on the nose. Heavy citrus on the palate that is quickly overtaken by scorpion peppers. ABV: 11%

My rating rationale for beer, wine, or spirits: +1 Service +1 Atmosphere/Vibe +1 Taste/Quality (Flavor, aroma, and overall quality of the beverage) +1 Presentation (Glassware, garnishes, and visual appeal of the drinks) +1 Selection/Variety (Range of beer, wine, or spirit options and uniqueness...

We were visiting the area to go hiking and went for a stroll downtown afterwards. We really wanted to grab a local beer and I searched brewery’s on Google and this place popped up. I didn’t do any research and assumed since it was a brewery that they had beer. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the staff working. We said we were excited to explore the town and wanted to grab a beer. To our disappointment, they don’t serve beer at this brewery. Minutes after we came in, another couple said the exact same thing as we did. They were coming in to grab a beer as well.

The employee explained that they sell mead there and provided us with a menu. I’ve never heard of mead before so I was intrigued and ordered the flight to sample a few flavors. This was a great option since my husband and I both enjoy different things. We both picked 2 flavors each and they were labeled when brought to the table. Each drink was perfectly balanced and smelled so decadent! My favorite was the Hopped Lemon 🍋

All in all we are glad be stopped by because we got to try something new. I think they have a really big missed opportunity being that they don’t sell any beer. I think they can craft a honey lager that would put the mainstream ones to shame. 🫶🏽 I’m hoping someone who owns this place would consider brewing beer because they clearly have the talent to make some amazing drinks!

Thank you for the great service...

Honey and Hops is an amazing place to rent as a venue. The price to rent out the mead bar as a venue was extremely reasonable, as well as the owner giving the option to host a small event with no cost as long as they still allowed public access. We decided to rent out the venue and it was an amazing night. Both the bartenders for that night Isaac and Nadia were more than we could have ever asked for in terms of kindness and bartenders. Our guests for our wedding who attended the event at Honey and Hops sung praises about the venue itself, the amazing mead, and the fantastic staff. I would highly suggest that if you need a place to host an event where you want to serve drinks you choose Honey and Hops. If you don't need to host an event but still want amazing atmosphere, amazing staff, and the best drinks in Front Royal I would highly suggest you head to Honey and Hops.

Thanks again H&H team for being apart of...
