ISSUES OF AN EMPLOYEE TOUCHING CHILDREN IN THIS STORE! This review is not necessarily about the store itself but more about the experience myself and my children had while in here.
Within about 2 minutes of entering this store, my sons (4 years & 5 months) and I were approached by an employee who immediately started trying to have a conversation with my 4 year old. She was trying to talk to him about being a big brother to my 5 month old (who she kept referring to as “it”). After respond to her a few times, my son who by this point was visibly uncomfortable turned to me and shook his head. I turned and told her that he didn’t want to talk to her and told him that he didn’t have to talk to her if he didn’t want to. She then GRABBED HIS FACE AND BEGAN TO SQUEEZE IS HIS CHEEKS. I grabbed her hands and pushed her away from him and screamed at her not to touch him.
She then turned to my youngest, who was in his car seat COMPLETELY COVERED by a nursing cover, pulled down his nursing cover and grabbed his hand saying “oh let me see the baby then!” I AGAIN grabbed her hand off my child and shoved her away from us screaming at her to stop effin touching my children. She then turned and walked away. I then grabbed the one pair of shorts that I had to check out and leave. Of course, she was the one working the cash register as well.
I took that opportunity to tell her bizarre, strange, and angering it was that she thought it was okay to touch my children especially after I told her to stop and pushed her multiple times. She cocked her head back and rolled her eyes saying that I should take it as a compliment that my kids are so cute. I responded by telling her that I didn’t care (using profanity) how cute she thought my kids are that she has no right to touch anyone who doesn’t want to be. She then raised her and waved me off saying that she “didn’t mean anything by it,” which at that point made me ask for the manager.
After several minutes of her explain her side to the manager across the store as though I couldn’t hear them. The manager approaches me and asks me what happened. I explain it to her, she apologies, says she will “talk” to her, and then goes into this sob story about how much she can identify with me because she has 2 sons of her own. This whole experience was absolutely INSANE, I will never be going to this place.
The employee that kept touching my children, was an older white woman with brown hair. Her hair was cut shorter in the back and longer up front. She was heavier set up top and had thinner legs. I should also add that both her and the manager refused to give me the...
Read moreWheelchair accessible via Food Lion sidewalk next door. Fitting area wheelchair accessible as well. This place is huge but could really use some good quality donations. There are some hidden gems to be found here for resellers. They have great sales like, fill a bag with clothing for $5. They have great prices on furniture..probably the cheapest I have seen.Their staff is super helpful and courteous. They keep the place clean. This is easily the cleanest thrift shop I have ever been to in my life. Bathroom is sparkling. If you want to help a very good cause, please consider donating here All proceeds go to supporting homeless shelters in the area with women and children. They specifically need clothing for all ages and any kind of toys (preferrably working toys) ect. There are several Beacon locations. Please consider giving to this organization rather than to those shops that do not really benefit the community. In this plaza is a Food Lion, Little Caesar's Pizza, #1 Nails, Make Your own ceramics shop, Planet Fitness & Master Kim's Champion Taekwondo. This Beacon is also conveniently located within 1/2 mile of Fuquay Walmart. DONATIONS NEED TO BE DROPPED...
Read moreI come in here every so often to shop and bring donations. I want to support their ministry. The prices are hit and miss. I found some really good deals on toys, which will bless our church nursery and my grandchildren, but the prices on household items are much too high. Most glasses for example are priced at $2 and also many other household items in that area. The thing that is so very odd about the pricing in that section of the store is that I could go to dollar tree and even Walmart and buy those same or nicer items (like paper goods and small plastic storage bins) for $1.25 new. I think the people who are pricing the items should consider if the item is available new for less. If it is, then at the very least, don't charge more than the new price at another store on an item. But BEST case scenario would be to realize that thrifters like myself, are looking to SAVE money, not spend more money, when they come to your store. Thank you for your consideration of this, I would have bought much more if the prices were more correct for...
