Tacos Oaxaca — Restaurant in Fuquay-Varina

Let me start of by saying I never leave reviews but yesterday I experienced the WORST WAITRESS SERVICE EVER. This was my first and last time eating here. First off they don’t acknowledge you when you walk in so my husband and I were like I guess we just go sit somewhere? Our waitress was the chubbier girl, when she brought our drinks she didn’t bring straws. We were ready to order 10 minutes before she decided to ask if we were ready to order and I finally got a chance to tell her she forgot our straws. She took our order (didn’t write it down) and once she brought us our food she didn’t bother to check on us, I literally had to tell the other waitress my daughter needed a spoon so she could eat her rice/beans. Once I got my kids settled and eating I noticed she got my order wrong I ordered the steak,chicken, shrimp nachos add beans, ( they gave chicken nachos and no beans) once again I had to tell the other waitress my order was wrong she said she was going to let her know well that girl never bothered to come ask what was wrong if it wasn’t for the gentlemen that was walking around checking in on people idk how long I would’ve had to wait for her to bother to come to our table. Anyways the guy went and put in my order again but after my kids and husband were basically done eating I didn’t want the nachos at that point. Since I knew this girl wasn’t going to check on us I literally had to get her attention so I could let her know I didn’t want the nachos anymore. Point is She’s a horrible waitress !! This is hands down one of the best experiences I've had at a restaurant in a long time. You can tell that they put alot of prude and passion into their food and service.

There were so many options on the menu that were really appealing, that I had a hard time trying to decide. Jose made a recommendation of the Queso Berria and it was amazing! Everything there is made from scratch in their kitchen!

Both Jose and Edgar checked on us regularly to make sure we were enjoying everything and to see if we needed anything. They were smiling the entire time we were there and very pleasant to speak with.

From a spice level, our food was mild but they have house made sauces that they brought to the table allowing us to be able to get it to the level of spice that we prefer. Thus is a huge plus for me because I have been dealing with some sort of indigestion/acid relux issues and spicy foods don't always agree with me even though I prefer my food to be very spicy.

The meat and vegetables were all very fresh and the quality of the ingredients were top notch!

This has already made it on my list of goto places in Fuquay-Varina! I'm excited to go back really soon and try their Tamales, they have a couple different variations of them that sound so delicious (one of them has Salsa...

Service here was great! They were fast to make the food and were kind. The ambiance was also nice, however there was room for improvement...

If you are ordering takeout, they will add a 49¢ surcharge for every person picking up the takeout, so go alone and do not walk in with your family. This was a first for me, so I walked in holding my 4 year old's hand and carrying my 10 month old to find a $1.50 surcharge added to my bill. The execution of tacos and burritos lack flavor and are mostly bland in comparison to other places we have been to. The components are good quality but it lacks the chefs touch you would typically find at a traditional Mexican food restaurant. After ordering the amount of food that would usually fill us up, it left us still hungry after ordering what we thought would be enough to have leftovers. For the portion sizes, this food is way overpriced.
