Firehouse Subs Fuquay Varina — Restaurant in Fuquay-Varina

Nice looking place, like the firehouse vibe. Unfortunately, the food & service do not match up - they failed to meet my expectations. Went in to get sub for dinner and ordered the large New York Steamer to go. Asked for half the sub to have NO MAYO. The description read USDA Choice Corned beef brisket and pastrami, melted provolone, deli mustard, mayo, and Italian dressing, order was Made quickly and we left. The sandwich description sounded good & I was looking forward to eating it! My husband was bragging about how good this shop is in Cleveland. SO DISAPPOINTED WITH WHAT WE GOT!! It did not look like the advertised photo at all. It was the slimiest, greasiest, gross sandwich. I didn't even eat it, sadly. Apparently NO MAYO means EXTRA mayo at this location ..... The whole thing was slathered with so much mayo the outside of the bun was greasy and the sandwich slipped out of your hands. My husband suggested I wipe the mayo off my half, but there was just SO MUCH that would have been useless. We found no deli mustard or Italian dressing! Now, no one else was in there when we ordered, it was 5pm so not late or an odd time and there were 4 employees standing around .... So really no excuse for what we received....I really wanted to like it. Sadly, WALK ON BY, NOT WORTH IT. Overpriced at $13.99 on top of the sloppy assembly. I found something in my pantry for dinner instead....

Placed an online order this evening for one medium tuna, one medium turkey, bacon, and ranch, and one small meatball sandwich. The order included one "celebration sugar cookie" for my daughter. I took a look inside the bag and realized the cookie was missing. I notified the guy behind the counter with curly brown hair and was informed, "Oh, when your online order includes a cookie, you have to pick that up at the counter." I proceed to the front counter and as no one was manning the counter, I asked "so do I just reach behind your counter and grab a cookie?" At that point a female employee sked which cookie I'd ordered. When I informed her it was a sugar cookie, she handed it to me and remarked "I'm so sorry, it should have been placed in the bag with the rest of your to-go order."

Walked in and it was 3 teenagers just standing around. One even had gloves on while scrolling on his phone. No one even said welcome to firehouse. The cashier’s attitude was very standoffish almost as if he wanted me to hurry up and place my order. While I was waiting on my order they still were just standing around talking amongst each other. One of them even cursing so loudly I could hear it from where I was standing and I wasn’t even close to them, I was standing near the online order pickup. More customers continued to walk in and the same cashier had that same standoffish attitude with everyone. After almost 30 minutes my order was ready. Not sure why 1 sandwich took as long as it did but I doubt I’ll go back to this location. I only went because I had just gotten off work and it was a convenient...
