My wife has been a loyal customer for years. She loved Atwoods and has never had more than the basic complaints. I was there to witness tonight, something that probably lost y'all a really awesome customer. A teenage girl spoke to my wife like she planned to go grab birds and cram them in a box without asking for available help. I wish I were joking. Only encounter we had with her the entire time so she had no reason to treat any of us that way. She wasn't our cashier, even. She was standing behind the counter eating ice and when she did speak to my wife, very disrespectfully, she didn't even have the decency to swallow the ice so it must have been super important to have the opportunity to talk down to a customer. She said while still chomping ice "if you're gonna look at birds, ask for assistance." With a snotty here we go again tone when we just loaded up $140 worth of plants. A cheaper trip if that tells you anything about how loyal a customer my wife's about to not be anymore. (She's complained to me many times about how snotty the girls there were but it wasn't enough blatant disrespect to completely push her over her tolerance level) We weren't even there 15 minutes with an hour to close by the time we left. My wife said to me in the checkout line. To me. Did I mention she was talking to me and not anyone else? That she was gonna go look real fast just to see what they had and she'd come back and let me know in case we wanted to get any before we left and that was how she was replied to when she didn't ask for input in the first place. Pretty basic knowledge to look at birds in a tub and didn't require a single comment to be made by staff. Do you treat all farmers this way every time you overhear the word bird? You come running to demand that they seek assistance? Apparently not because amazing enough when my wife and I do go to buy birds, we have to go hunt someone down every single time. If it's such a concern for people to so much as look at your birds, I don't know, maybe keep someone there at all times like a life guard since looking at birds is that detrimental that your staff barks demands like they're speaking to a child they've already told over and over again not to touch the birds. How disrespectful. I think my wife and I have about had it with all the kids running the businesses around here and this is one of the stores we spent the most money at and one of the only stores she would even go to anymore at all and she's already started getting hooked up with local farmers and homesteaders since, online, for chickens and plants and feed that fast to avoid being treated this way again and from the other comments I've seen, I don't think we were the first people to feel this way about our local Atwoods. My wife would embarrass that kid with just the very basic knowledge of those birds, let alone plants or various medical and nutritional products y'all sell and she just went to go look at the birds! And she never treats your staff like they're inexperienced when everyone in town knows they are. She's had staff there get her number to get advice from her! And y'all can't even treat people with basic respect when you don't know squat and most of your customers would run you into the ground with knowledge, alone. And you probably do have customers that come in with entitled attitudes like they own the store and don't need your help. That would be annoying and my wife and I can't stand people like that and I'd still assume at this point that if I saw one of those entitled people there, that there was a legitimate reason for them to have that attitude towards y'all just from what I saw tonight and I'd assume they absolutely knew more than the staff they were...
Read moreBeen shopping here for 10 years. Today I went in to by the 5 gallon container of Motomix fuel. Have bought it here many times before. It was on the shelf with the 1 gallon containers. Had price tag of $180.00.
Took it to counter to check out and the nice young lady scanned it and it told her she couldn’t sell it. She called over who I assume was a manager and he said no, we can’t sell it, it’s for in store use only.
I asked why is it on the shelf , with the other fuel and with a price tag on it? Again, I’ve bought this here before…. His response to my question why is it on the shelf… Well I’ll take care of that right now, took it off checkout counter and set it behind counter.
Totally rude and unprofessional. If this guy worked at my company I would’ve immediately kicked him out on his ass for being such a smart ass to one of my customers.
I’ll never shop here again. By Atwood’s. Hire better...
Read moreRude people, nobody was helpful. Stood in line for 30 minutes because the cashier didn’t know how to process the mans check. Had picked out a saddle pad that was labeled $102 on the shelves and they rang in up at $179 at the register. When I told them it was priced at $102 in the back they were extremely rude and unhelpful. Dont mislabel stuff and don’t be rude. LEGALLY stores are obligated to sell their stuff as they have it priced on the shelf. I came back specifically to get that pad after running errands. Between the line wait, lack of competence, and their obvious lack of knowledge on what common business practices are... I would NOT recommend this place. Plus you could tell the bags of feed were not being rotated and looked like they have been sitting there a while and I wouldn’t want to feed my animals old stale feed. The kid, Miguel, at the register was extremely...
