Lyly was not a very receptive or understanding nail tech. I showed several pictures of what shape/color/design I was going for. One was a short coffin/ballerina shape, and she said that she couldn’t do it, to which the rational response would be “let me find a tech who can do this because you’re paying for this” but we ended up compromising on a longer nail, same shape. It took four times verifying with me that it was the right shape, also a few glances back at the pictures to get the nail even close to what I was aiming for. Also this particular shape was an extra $5 when it’s no more sculpting than a stiletto. She did tell me that there would be a charge for the shape, but she did not mention that there was a nail art charge, nor that French tip was considered to be nail art and was an extra $15 (if I remember correctly). Lyly also drew blood three times while doing my nails, once with the dremmel, once with scissors, and once with the file. Her words verbatim when I flinched my finger after being sliced by the scissors “I don’t cut people” and then she wiped the blood off with the towel. My mother accompanied me to the salon, and we had a coupon voucher. The voucher was only able to be used at the Ocala location, which was not mentioned anywhere on the paper, and we were told that we should’ve been told that when purchased, but this was a gift. So while it’s not their fault we weren’t aware, the coupons are not fully informative in the cases of a gift or honestly it may not have even been mentioned when purchased, I can’t be sure. Whatever polish they used on my mom’s nails (in January) has effected them to this day. They will not grow to their normal length and are peeling off in layers still. It could be that her nails just don’t like that type of polish, but gel has never been a problem of hers before, and I doubt that there’s not more people with a potential sensitivity or reaction to this brand or type of polish, so it creates a curiosity and hesitation concerning the products they use.
Overall, Lyly was pretty unprofessional and not really customer conscientious. The company as a whole isn’t that customer friendly and doesn’t really cater to the general public, and clearly they hire people who could be a bit more accommodating to customers, particularly the clearly inexperienced ones that yknow, may not come back now.
Do not recommend. There’s definitely places in town to get better results and a better experience for literally a fraction...
Read moreI have been to this business two times now, and the first time was fantastic. My nail tech was a very friendly woman who was extremely helpful, and my best friend had a good experience as well. The second time, however, was polar opposite. I was greeted nicely by the woman at the front desk and taken to my seat, which gave me high hopes that everyone who worked there is friendly-- but then I was proven wrong. The nail tech, was on his phone, and did not acknowledge my existence. The receptionist told him what I was getting and he did not respond in any way. I said hello, and he did not respond. He took a few seconds to get off of his phone before he asked me what I was getting. I politely told him that I needed to get my current acrylic nails removed first, and he quite literally sighed and shook his head. Whenever he would get up to get something, he would sigh and slowly walk to get it. He had to get 3 different nail polishes for me because none were like the samples, and he would yank the drawer open and snatch it out. He kept sighing, shaking his head, and unnecessarily slamming things down, or tossing them to the side. He seemed aggravated, and I felt very uncomfortable. He did not interact with me unless it was to ask me about my nails, and when I would respond, he was very curt or looked at me in annoyance. While buffing my nails, he ended up bumping the skin below my cuticle and cut it-- and then hit it again, which was decently painful. I wasn't sure if he noticed, and I didn't want to upset him any further, so I shut my mouth. All in all, I felt very on-edge during the whole experience, and was very upset during and afterwards. I'm naturally a quieter person, and I really appreciate it when people open up the line of communication, because it makes me feel more relaxed. This nail tech made me feel like I was being a burden, and that upset me.
In every job that requires customer service, you need to be able to at least acknowledge someone's existence and to not make them uncomfortable. He was the most unprofessional nail tech that I have come into contact with, and I am questioning whether or not to go back. I am not tearing down the establishment as a whole, I'm just hoping this makes them more aware of how some of their workers behave and hopefully something good can come of...
Read moreI’ve been to this salon twice. Both times I have gotten full set gel color acrylics. Only $45, and the employees are extremely precise with their work. I believe the same man did my nails both times, but it is hard to tell with masks. Either way, he is very talented. The employees do not try to persuade you to upgrade the service you are getting or tell you how long your nails should or should not be, which is always nice. They are all kind and work efficiently. They are usually at least somewhat busy, so you may have to wait a minute, but it is well worth the short wait. They have great color selection for nail polish as well. One of my favorite things is the cleanliness of this business. It is not only a beautiful building in a beautiful plaza, it is also very clean, on the inside and outside. Even the bathrooms are nice, and they are always kept clean. The smell in the building is not very strong at all, which is amazing, especially for people with breathing problems or prone to headaches such as myself. But, obviously, you go there to get your nails done, so, as for the nails... they are always beautiful, even, very well-painted, they have a nice selection of sparkles and other additions to spice up your nail game, even the popular butterfly sparkles (which look amazing, by the way.) And again, the price is great for the quality you are getting.
So, a good, clean business with kind workers that offers amazing, good-quality services at low prices. I definitely recommend this salon for anyone looking to get a manicure, pedicure, wax, or any of the services...
