Kilwins Ice Cream - Chocolate - Fudge — Restaurant in Florida

So I try not to review places unless I have to. But I went into kilwins like a normal Saturday. My family usually goes on Saturday or Sunday but generally pretty early. They wanted to get ice cream and I decided I would look at the other displays and maybe try something new. I was holding a bag of gummy worms debating on purchasing them or one of the rice krispies in the case. I guess the employee named Ariana decided that I was stealing the gummy worms. Mind you I had nothing on my person, no bags and the gummy worms were in my hand. I even pointed out that my family was down waiting to be served for ice cream. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt until I started to walk over to my family gummy worms in hand and she decided then to stop me and say are you getting those, I can ring them up. And I was like uh maybe but we're all together and kept her hand out for me to hand them to her. I let her ring them up and walked away from her to my family who at this point were STILL waiting to be served ice cream (I had been looking at other goods for about 3 or 4 minutes with no one else in the store).

I have never been this upset by a kilwins employee as her coworker was completely sweet and kind to us the entire time (and has been before in previous visits). I hope that if nothing else this review helps other people from this. And hopefully teaches another employee that this isn't okay.

I just don't get all the raves. We went in for fudge. They're cutt8ng corners- it was the first bland fudge I've ever had in 6+ decades of eating fudge.

Everything was very overpriced, but we expected that dark chocolate fudge would taste like what my Mom made at Christmas for this price.

Nope. It was just so-so. Not creamy or tasty, just gotta have another bite fudge. More like fudge like Publix made it with lard.

Brought it home. Neither of us thought the fudge was great. Just passable. It's sitting here, not being gobbled up.

We think they're cutting corners on the ingredients. Namely butter. Fudge is simple to make, with good cocoa, sugar, vanilla and butter being the main ingredients. But, if there's any butter in theirs, it's being cut with Crisco or something similar.

I'll never buy here again.

And, when they ring up the charge, their system prompts you for a tip. For what?? For handing me a slice of overpriced bland fudge?

At least we are now inspired to get out my Mom's recipe book and make her Christmas fudge with real butter. Just to remember what real fudge tastes like. Kilwins is...

Saw an employee named Ariana racially profile a customer. We were all together to get ice cream and one person in our group had gummy worms in their hand. Mind you they had no bags in hand, the pack of gummies was not behind their back, nothing to obscure the view. We were going to hold onto everything and cash out at the end like we normally do. But I suppose for some reason she felt the need the have to scan it before she even served us ice cream which by the way her coworker had to tell her to stop what she was working on because we were just standing and waiting.
