I came in the other day for a sweet treat and to do some school work, but I was absolutely appalled by the atmosphere created. I was helped by a sweet girl who gave great recommendations for pastries, macarons, and tea! I was probably there for around 2 hours, and the atmosphere was great initially. However, the same girl who helped me made a mistake with another customer. Now, while I don’t know what that mistake was, no one and I mean NO ONE deserves to be treated the way she did by the person who I can only assume was the manager. He followed her around and constantly berated her for that mistake, even IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS. Nearly the 2 HOURS I was there he kept criticizing her for that mistake, and at that point I had to leave; the environment created was just too hostile. If it was me, I would have quit right then and there! And while I truly hoped this was a one-time deal where the manager was having a bad day, I wanted to read some other reviews. Unfortunately, others also witnessed this man being aggressive at his young female employees IN FRONT of the customers! I find it hilarious how he commented to that same review claiming to be better, but from what I saw, zero improvement had been made. So while service and food quality was fantastic, I can not in good conscious reward such behavior like that to...

Read morePretty disappointing bakery, and I tried quite the spread. I don’t mind spending a pretty penny on good pastries, but these weren’t very good pastries. Uppercrust is much more worth your money than this place. Everything here looks gorgeous, but tasted underwhelming at best. Croissant was the same as one from McDonalds, not a freshly baked one — bready not flakey. Specialty chocolate truffle was passable but not a very good balance of flavors in my opinion. The macron had a wonderful texture, but again, the flavoring was odd — like they added too much lemon extract and no real lemon juice or zest. Beignet was light and fluffy and probably the best thing in my order, but still didn’t make me want to finish it. Chocolate torte was okay, the crust had a nice crunch and flavor but the chocolate wasn’t very rich despite being the focus of the pastry. They have a convenient location, so maybe that will keep them in business rather than the quality of...
