I want to share the experience I had at Peach Valley Saturday morning for my best friend's Wedding Rehearsal brunch. What happened at the restaurant completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Yes, it is long, but there is a lot of detail of what happened.
Months ago the groom made a reservation for about 25 people to have brunch at 11am for Saturday morning. There was no issue making the reservation. Fast forward to Saturday morning- I call a little before 9am to let Peach Valley know I am with the "Bridal Brunch" and asked about decorating and after 9am the groom got a call from Peach Valley confirming the time for the reservation.
The groom and I arrive at 10:15am to see if we could put out some decorations. We weren't expecting Peach Valley to be ready, but wanted to let them know we were there so we could start once the area was prepared (we were on the outside patio area). The groom and I spoke with two of the six girls at the front/hostess desk to tell them we are with the "Bridal Brunch" and wanted to decorate. The girls told us the area wasn't ready (we could see people on the patio eating their breakfast from the desk), but they would call to let us know once the area was ready. I asked whose cell number they had and was told the name has was "[the grooms]" at which point the groom said that was him. The girl said, okay we'll call you when it's ready.
Rather than wait out in the heat, the groom and I walked to Tropical Smoothie, had smoothies, and kept his phone on the table. The groom and I wait for quite a while then get a text from one of his friends at about 10:50am saying he was at Peach Valley and wanted to know where we were. The groom and I decide to go back to Peach Valley even though we didn't get a call since it was getting close to time. On the walk across the parking lot, the friend calls the groom and I knew something was wrong.
The groom and I walk inside Peach Valley around 10:50 and are told they tried to call us (me and the groom), but since we didn't answer, they started giving away our tables. Not only did Peach Valley not call the groom's cellphone (which we know they had), they confirmed the time of the reservation, but gave away tables BEFORE the confirmed time. The people outside were already seated with drinks so they probably sat at about 10:45. We had everyone (minus one who was traveling) for the Brunch at the restaurant at 11:00 and no where to put them. Naturally, the groom was POed and the bride was stressed. The groom stayed inside until the tables were ready so they didn't start giving away more tables.
Once we did start to get seated we didn't have enough seats and tables for everyone. It wasn't until 11:30 that everyone was seated.
I will say, yes, the groom spoke to the manager (calmly, he wasn't yelling and making a scene) about what happened, yes, we did get some apple fritters, and yes, I think the bill was adjusted (I don't know how much, the MOH paid the bill and refused to tell anyone what it was).
That is not my issue. My issue is I have never heard of a restaurant giving away tables for a reservation before the confirmed time for a reservation. Especially not for such a large party where some planning needs to be done to make sure everyone is together. (If we only needed two tables, that would be one thing. But we needed like five tables). If Peach Valley acted as you would expect a restaurant to with reservations none of this would have happened.
I just want to let y'all know in case you plan on having a large party at Peach Valley, leave someone at the front/hostess desk because they may give away table which were set aside for your reservation.
Side note: the food was good and the two waitresses (Cora and Anna) were great.
TL;DR a reservation was made for a large party at Peach Valley and they gave away table for our reservation BEFORE the reserved time. Yummy food, but would NEVER go there with a group again. If you want to, leave someone inside so it doesn't...
Read moreThe entire experience was horrible. So we arrived around 10:30am. We were seated around 10:45am. Our waitress came to our table got our drink orders. She came back it was 11am and we placed our food order. I ordered shrimp and grits, eggs scrambled with cheese, and a side Caesar salad. My mom ordered a Mediterranean salad with salmon and my husband ordered eggs Benedict with a blueberry pancake. We did not get food to our table until 12pm. Then once we did get some food, my salad looked wilted and i was missing my scrambled eggs with cheese and shrimp and grits. The scrambled eggs came and literally had a slice of cheese just slapped on top. Not scrambled with cheese or even kind of melted together. I sent it back and was given lukewarm scrambled eggs with pieces of unmelted cheese throughout it. The blueberry pancake was very dense and just not good. My salad was wilted. The bread it came with was cold and i still didn’t get the shrimp and grits. Another half hour goes by and still no shrimp and grits and no visit from the waitress who was busy tending to other tables. Another family that was sitting before us never got their food and apparently their ticket was lost! So they left without eating any food. Ultimately i canceled the shrimp and grits and we just paid for what we had and left. Our waitress was apologetic and informed us that management canceled a lot of their staff because they were slow. Absolutely ridiculous! I...
Read moreFirst appearance indicated we had found the perfect place to have some great pancakes, home fries, omelets and such. unfortunately appearances are just that...appearances. We were a party of 4, and was told 10 minutes. Really, who can't wait 10 minutes. As we waited another party of three arrived and was seated before us, because they were priority. Had we been told we would've also joined to get priority seating. Our waiter suggested the apple fritters. Never tried them before so we went for the half portion (4 pieces). The fritters were soggy, undercooked and not very tasty since the flavor was overpowered by the cinnamon, we left one piece because of this. I had the Philly eggs Benedict, the meat was flavorful, but the hollandaise sauce was weak and flavorless, served over a crossaint, which was a surprise and most likely my fault for not reading the menu correctly, but I would've rather had English muffin. I also ordered a side of rye toast, which was under toasted. Other guests had skillet with too much corn bread topped with very flavorful pork and cold fried egg, overpriced kids pancakes 4.99 for one then 1.99 for additional. Restaurant looked very busy so maybe it was a fluke but I doubt that we'll recommend or return. oh forgot that we were still charged for the fritters even though it was a server suggestion and we told him we didn't like it. His answer, "wow, never had anyone not like them", and...
