First off, nice employees, they did a good job and they were timely. BUT, they do not use genuine Apple products and do not tell you that.
Had my iPhone screen replaced and now have a constant warning on my phone that the display is not recognized. Face ID sometimes doesn’t work and the brightness of the display is not as bright, making it hard to see when outside.
I called and they knew these were issues and admitted they don’t use Apple displays. Charging $350 to replace a screen that you know has issues is not a goods business practice.
UPDATE I received a call from the owner who was very polite and apologetic. He was truly concerned about my experience with his business. He validated my issue and indicated they would make some changes to make sure customers are better informed.
He also took the time to explain the why behind my issue and it makes total sense. He is going to rectify the issue and get my phone back to original working condition and I couldn’t be happier.
I was very impressed after speaking with him. He is the definition of a great small business owner and I wish him and his business...
Read moreWe had a front and back screen replacement for 304$. After picking it up, the touch sensitivity was not as it had been before. It would take many attempts to get the phone to respond. This issue continued to get worse until the touch response was nearly non-functional. As it was my daughters birthday weekend (my daughters phone), we delayed dealing with the issue until after the weekend. Over the weekend, the screen started to turn green starting on one side of the screen and then slowly spreading toward the middle. Small cracks started appearing under the surface of the screen and touch response became completely nonexistent. We had been told the repair was under warranty and to bring it in for any issues. However, when we took the phone in on Monday, we were told that the phone was not under warranty because the display was damaged and that it could have been fixed under warranty if we had brought it back within a few minutes. We were told we would have to pay 129 + tax more to get it fixed, despite it never working properly since...
Read moreI was having more and more difficulty charging my iPhone 12 the past few months, like I would have to get the angle/pressure PERFECT on my charging cable, and one day it finally stopped charging altogether. I figured dirt/dust in the charging port was the culprit so I purchased compressed air and attempted to fix it myself (using a tooth pick as well) but I was unsuccessful after 10 minutes of trying so I worried it might be a more serious issue.
I called Gadget Guys and they quoted me $30 for cleaning the port, which would be raised to $100 (i.e. $70 on top of original $30) for a port replacement if the issue turned out to be more serious. They were extremely clear about pricing up-front so I drove over.
Guy had it cleaned and charging perfectly in literally a minute and then refused to charge me the $30 even when I insisted because mine "was an easy fix" (for him, not for me 😅). Very friendly, no-nonsense, and I will be going back for any other phone issues--and hopefully pay them for their...
