Rent-A-Center — Local services in Galveston

Bought a couch from Rent-A-Center, and told them that I wanted to just pay it off so that I could get the same-as-cash price they advertised (if paid within 6 months). I was told they wouldn't accept the full amount all at once, and so they set me up on a payment plan. Fine, whatever, I didn't mind that. I put down a down payment and after a few months, I noticed that my credit card never received a charge for the auto payments. I went into the store and they told me that the auto-payments weren't set to even begin until roughly the 5 month mark. Well, if you don't pay off the couch within 6 months, then you have to pay even more. In other words, they set up my auto payments late so that I'd lose the same-as-cash price and would have to pay more. Even worse, when I tried to pay off the couch right then and there, they told me that their system was down (despite them helping another customer).

Be careful when dealing with this Rent-A-Center, as they will intentionally set your auto-payments up in such a way that you'll have to pay more for your item in order to maximize...

The two amazing ladies that work there were extremely professional and caring. I came in there with my family to buy a bed, bed frame, and bedroom set. They treated us very well stayed late to make our order happen and was absolutely amazing with our children. Rent A Center is very lucky to have such great employees there! After reading the many negative reviews on this store, I didn’t want to go, but I’m so glad I did! Valencia was awesome! She is one hard working lady! With other people in the store, she was by herself and never let us feel like we were pushed aside!
