We originally went to Fullen Jewelry downtown to get a link removed from a Citizen watch and a new battery for one of my wife’s watches. The man at Fullen had no interest in helping us and just said “we don’t do that here, try the jewelry store over by Randall’s on 61st Street”. We were surprised at the lack of customer service at Fullen but drove over to 61st to look for a jewelry store by Randall’s - and we found Generations Jewelers! They were super nice and very helpful. They had both the link removed and the battery replaced in less than 10 minutes. We just moved to the island in January and have found almost every local business to have great customer service and go above and beyond to be helpful - and Generations Jewelers is no exception! This was our first time to go to this jewelry store. We needed two rings sized and just found them online.I didn’t know what to expect, but what I discovered was one of the most genuinely customer friendly owner and staff that I have been around in a long time! As it turned out, they provided an option that cost us nothing at all! They spent time with us, shared different options, and were really fun to be around. I will definitely go back for any of my jewelry purchase or repair needs. They also buy jewelry, so I will take some of the jewelry. I have that I don’t wear anymore for them too look at. We’ve been incredibly happy with everything this shop has done for us—from resizing to custom inscriptions. I even got my wedding band here, and Stephanie was super helpful with picking the material and style. Not pushy at all—just gave me the specs, and when I checked online, her prices were very competitive. Their selection’s always solid; last time we were in, they had some beautiful vintage Omegas. Full workshop in the back, and while I haven’t had anything custom made yet, I’ve seen the work firsthand—it’s incredible.
