Food Lion — Local services in Garden City

14 Apr ‘25, 2:02 pm, register 1, cashier 0210. I’ve always enjoyed coming to this foodlion everyone has always been so kind and friendly. Until today…This cashier was so disrespectful to the elderly man ahead of me. He was asking about some of his items ringing up for a price different than what was on the shelf. She cut him off and started talking to him like he was a dummy. Apparently he forgot to check in at the kiosk so I offered him to use my card. The cashier told both of us that he could not use my card and that he’d have to input his number at the kiosk to get the discount price and he’d have to wait 5 minutes for it to show up at the register. Then the rude disrespectful girl looked at me and asked me if I was willing to stand there 5 minutes. I told her I’d go to a different line and she said in an arrogant tone, “whatever”. The elderly man just paid and left. I’ve never been at foodlion when the cashier refused to let a customer use a different card. She spoke so nasty to both of us. She was apparently raised to be that way. Young people these days are so mean and that cashier needs some training in human decency. IMO she’s racist, I mean I seriously doubt she treat her family or friends that way. I had my elderly mother with me and she was almost in tears at the pure meanness coming...

It's a great place to shop, the people are knowledgeable about the product. The cashier's are courteous and polite. They have smiles on their faces and the courtesy booth always is ready to serve whatever your needs are. I went in to get a head of lettuce and tomatoes ended up buying 38.98 worth of groceries. It is clean, prices are very easy on the wallet. And they sell organic chicken cheaper than other stores. Never tried it cooked the wings and YES! You can definitely taste te difference. And they come big and plump also...

This store has improved alot in the past year. I actually have actually enjoyed shopping there lately instead of dreading having to go there bc of it being convenient for me. They sell Baskin and Robbins caramel praline ice cream and it's my favorite!! This is the only store that I've been able to find it at and it has so much caramel and pralines in it that it's almost every spoon full has some in it. Anyway, I'm glad that they are under new management, the improvements are much...
