It's a pretty nice store. I had kind of a rough first couple times since they moved locations but today I was able to have a good experience with Rachel and Ruby. 2 very kind employees. They pay significantly more in store credit than competition. Though I wish they had a higher cash limit than just $500. On busier days it goes fast. There is no limit for store credit however. Also keep in mind that there is a single case of high value items that can only be paid for with 50/50 store credit/cash or card. Those are usually high value items that are traded in for cash and allegedly people were trading in lots of small things to scalp PS5s so that's why they had to do it. I understand this isn't a pawn shop or some chain store or large cooperation like GameStop or DKOldies but I think a cash limit of around $2000 each day or limit $100 per person per month in cash with unlimited store credit would be a little more reasonable. I also wish they could get more in the line with repairs. There are plenty of consoles out there that only need basic repairs like replacing capacitors or replacing thermal paste. And there are a few systems they don't want to take due to fear of failures like the original model Xbox 360 (Though the Jasper and Tonasket motherboard revisions usually don't have the red ring issue), the original model PS3 (Though if the serial number starts with CECHL01 and up it shouldn't have the yellow light problem) and the original model Xbox One occasionally. (I kinda feel bad mentioning that) However, I do appreciate this mom and pop shop keeping what they can out of the e Waste stream and keeping it in circulation. Prices aren't bad either, Most of the time if you do the math and base the game you're looking at. Before you think it's overpriced like some people think (including myself before I did the math) base the price on the average sold price on eBay for that game. Add the average shipping cost and consider their usual buy 2, get the third pre-owned game free offer and you'll find out it's roughly the same as eBay, give or take a few bucks or sometimes even less. Overall it's a great store and they do care about their customers. But I wish they had more employees. It took 45 minutes for me to trade in a PS2 and about a dozen games before I was able to get my store credit. I also wish they would have a sign on the door unless I missed it that states when they have reached their cash limit for the day or I wish an employee would tell the customer before they go through...
ย ย ย Read moreMy son came in to sell his pokemon cards, and while we weren't expecting a ton of money, he was offered $7 for I'm cash or $15 store credit for his binder, card sleeves and about 400 cards (lots that were just energy/ trainers). The binder and sleeves the cards were in cost more than that alone.
I really felt like they were trying to take advantage of a young, naive, kid. If I hadn't have been there to stop the "deal" my kid would have done the deal without realizing how little value he was getting.
I know pokemon cards have a huge range of value, and most of them are worth very little, but perhaps with kids/teens an explanation of value would be helpful- and offering more for the binder and sleeves if the kid is willing to trade them in. As a parent who has spend hundreds on worthless cards, it was shocking to have nothing offered for the brand new sleeves we purchased for him to put the cards in to bring them to GT games.
My boys love the store for the merchandise, but each time we go in the people who work there are dismissive and unwelcoming (to their credit, they always seem busy- so perhaps that's why).
I appreciate the owner response and being willing to hear...
ย ย ย Read moreOffers in store credit but only lets u use 50% of it on a item and u have to pay the rest in cash, an absolute slap in the face to trading in games. Avoid this store and their slimy business practices they're actively scamming you especially when they're getting the value of what u brought in on top of actual cash.
The people that run this place should be ashamed of themselves and their blatant theft of it's customers would rate it half a star if I could.
Edit: The customer did not disrespect you and on top of that claiming ur giving away an OLED switch for free when he's giving you 2 consoles AND $80 on top of that. No man ur running a scam and honestly are just a terrible person for lying on a review and slandering him, the idea that you are the owner but treat your customers with such blatant disrespect just shows people SHOULD shop somewhere else considering they'd be treated much much better for trading in at least $240 worth of consoles and $80 on top of that, in fact there is a game store that is close that DOES offer better.
