The staff lacks in offensive ways. Every time I've visited the store I've encountered several of the staff complaining to eachother about having to pick up after customers, racks being disorganized, and clothing items on the floor. I understand the frustration, but in a highly trafficked discount store, this is to be expected and clearly the reason they were hired. Everyone has less than a perfect day at work, but these complaints should be voiced at a more appropriate time, like not AT work. The main reason I will never return to the store, nor will I refer again to my clients looking for formal wear, is a woman named, "Karen." A black lady, usually posted at the checkout register facing inside the mall. It astounds me that someone in retail could be so indignant and keep their job. While waiting for her to remove hangers and whatever else she felt was required before ringing up my purchases, I stepped three feet to my left to look at an item, she suddenly left her register and went to the next register where another clerk seemed to be handling her duties quite well. Stepping three feet back to the checkout, Im wondering what in the world is happening. Another associate approaches, and asked if I had been served. Karen, yells across saying, "she left!" I was in shock. I could not believe her claim and the manner of which she delivered it. She continued to be rude to me throughout the remainder of the checkout, and adding salt to the unessessary wound, when I got home I realized one of my blouses was missing, but shows paid on my receipt. I didnt bother to go back, feeling certain I can't be the only customer she has treated poorly. Therefore, the store is unlikely to rectify this issue. Which...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe prices used be be much lower than the clearance racks at the regular Dillard's store. As of 2 weeks ago, they were not. IMO, some clothing prices were higher than a clearance rack at a regular store. It's almost two hours from home and I won't make the trip again. *EDITED TO ADDRESS OTHER REVIEWS REGARDING PROFILING PEOPLE OF COLOR The "owner" of Dillard's responding to the reviews: Its a pure disgrace to humiliate people with your "security" techniques and it is profiling. Dillard's used to have security cameras to watch from a loss prevention room where they could gather proof of shoplifting and then have security discreetly approach the person. What happened to Dillard's integrity? Does your insurance company know you have directed employees to follow people of color? Do you want a class action suit from people of color for being profiled? I know Dillard's Corporate Office will address this. They understand what a liability this store is and there are too many reviews that have politely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been shopping at this Dillards location for several years and absolutely love the selections and prices.
However, I visited about a month ago and like a previous customer stated below, I was pretty much followed during my shopping experience by this black lady. I am black also, but I wanted to make sure you knew who I was talking about. I also saw the tall white guy walking around a few times. But, this black lady actually followed me to the cash register and stood close by as I paid.
This was very disturbing, uncomfortable and I frankly didnāt appreciate it! As many time as Iāve shopped here, this has NEVER happened.
I returned the next day to continue shopping as I ran out of time the previous day. The same lady was there again. She must have recognized me from the day before and didnāt bother to follow me around this time because at this point, she knew that I had money.
This was about 6 weeks ago. I havenāt returned yet, but when I do, I hope this situation...
