PROS: I loved the "old fashioned" feel of the photos we had done. They were beautiful. I'm usually awkward in front of the camera - I have bad self confidence and this shoot meant a lot to me because my family and I haven't had professional photos in over 9 years. It was super easy to book a session and pay, it was well laid out on the website with clear directions. Our photographer (Erica Culver) did a good job at capturing good angles and she picked a beautiful landscape scene at the top of Foothills Parkway. It was magical. I felt like the price point for the session was reasonable.

CONS: Although you pick the date and time for the session you do not know the location of the shoot until the day before, our photographer sent me a text the morning before that was very short. We had to prepare for a 2 hour drive so knowing the location ahead of time would have been more convenient. I had paid our deposit but the payment arrangement was unclear until the day of the session. The thing that really bothered me was that my 13 year old has horrible acne. During our session I specifically asked our photographer (Erica Culver) if she could do blemish correction or touch ups on his face so he would be less self conscience. She said absolutely and asked me to keep communication after I received the proofs... any proofs I liked she would edit before I purchased them. I even offered to pay more for this service. I attempted to contact her after receiving the proofs to inquire about editing as she instructed and I was ignored, she never responded. I felt as though I was lied to or she didn't want to take the extra time to provide us with this service. I bought some prints of which I thought were outrageous in price (you can get the same quality prints through Shutterfly for a fraction of the price) and my sons face was unedited as I had expected after the failed contact attempts. Also, when you download the supposed "high resolution" proofs they end up splotchey and fuzzy as though the resolution is significantly downgraded.

Raw truth. My husband and I have two incredible sons Jakob(21) and Jorden(19). We are caregivers, our oldest son Jakob has special needs. This life is thee most rewarding and at the same time the most exhausting experience and one we would never walk away from. My husband is a military veteran and served 20 years so we are use to him being away for a long period of time. Myself however, this the first time ever in Jakob’s 21 years of life being away him for a 2 week caregiver break.

Our 20th Anniversary is on the 27th of August and we forced ourselves to take a trip, just the two of us and for those who may not know about the challenges caregivers are faced with, it took 5 people total to rearrange their schedules to help us make sure Jakob was being cared for while we were away. One of the amazing individuals that helped out was our sweet Jorden, Jakobs younger brother, like I said, our boys are gods gift and amazing individuals.

What better way to capture our huge milestone…. Photo Shoot in the Mountains! I took a gamble and went to google and my gut said YES when I stumbled upon Mountain Escape Photography and we struck gold with Mia!!!

My husband and I are the most awkward people when it comes to getting our photos taken and our photos are breath taking!!!!!! Looking at the photos a million times over and over, I watch our story, love, trials and tribulations unfold and radiate with every smile, every wrinkle and every gray hair.
