I have a really mixed review about this place.
To start: got recommended a filet mignon, ordered a filet mignon, received a rosemary sirloin, then got charged for a filet mignon. Only got refunded the $17 difference since the steak was eaten. They also don’t know how to cook risotto.
Overall, service in the restaurant seemed nice. I had made a reservation for my birthday dinner for my boyfriend and I. They gave us the nicest table in the restaurant (massive booth) as per my request. Everyone in the restaurant knew it was my birthday at entry. Our server was polite and friendly. Gave me a free crème brûlée. Lamb lollipops were the best thing we ate during the experience. We had no issues until we saw the bill.
My boyfriend and I were visiting Gatlinburg from out of town. It was snowy/icy out and we had Ubered from our Airbnb and had to leave quickly because I didn’t imagine there would be an issue with our bill. As mentioned above, we thought we would be receiving a filet mignon. When our food arrived, we immediately thought it was odd that the steak looked flat, chewy, and rectangular. We simply thought it was a terminology issue (since everything else was fine) and ate the steak normally. After reviewing their online pictures per their website’s menu, we realized after we Ubered away that we had been overcharged by $17. Again, we had been recommended a filet mignon, ordered that dish, and charged for it. After calling to discuss the issue, they said the best they could do was refund the $17 since it was eaten. I’m not someone that complains often unless it’s justified, but I don’t understand how the overcharge even happened. It made us wonder if the kitchen or our server intentionally tried to overcharge because it was an event and they thought we wouldn’t notice. Earlier I also mentioned my risotto not being properly cooked. It was gummy and unseasoned, despite its color. No flavor of saffron whatsoever. For a $38 paella, you would believe the rice would be at least fluffy and/or creamy, not just cold clumps of rice. I tried to fix the rice after taking 95% of it home in hopes of not wasting any of my food, but failed to make it enjoyable. It all ended up in the trash anyway. Just left me disappointed when I had booked this place two months in advance based off of good reviews. We were told by our second Uber driver that we should’ve just gone to Greenbriar instead. Ironically that same guy said his main complaint about LeConte was the rice they use for their paella. Just an unfortunate situation where it doesn’t make me want to go back or recommend them to anyone. Still don’t feel...
Read moreI'm a little confused about this restaurant. I see great reviews so my partner and I decided to give it try, but our personal experience was not good.
Issues I had: When we first walked in the hostess asked if we want table or booth, I said booth and she seem a little irritated. No idea why, maybe she's going through something. When the waitress brought out the glasses of water, my glass had 3 pink lip stick stain and I had to point it out to the waitress when she came back. The waiter (not the waitess that took our order) took our meals to the table next to us, literally sat it down on their table and insisting that this are what they ordered even though they kept saying it's not theirs. I tried to wave at the guy to let him know it's our, but the guy looked at me and ignored me lol finally someone at that table said we didn't even order yet, so the waiter picked up the food and gave it to us. For a restaurant that is more expensive than others that shouldn't be appropriate to give a different table food that already sat on someone else. The spinach artichoke dip that goes with the trio dips is probably the worst spinach artichoke I ever had and that coming found someone that loves spinach artichoke dip. I don't recommend. 😅 Not sure if their tuna ceviche is actually tuna ceviche or just poke tuna. I probably don't know enough, but I can clear taste the soy and lots of sesame oil. -For some reason I thought that ceviche comes with slice bread so I asked for some, they gave me a few slices of burnt bread. lol Lastly, I felt nausea ans tummy ache after eating there the same night. My partner pointed out there are multiple signs that said they are not responsible if you eat raw food at their restaurant, so think twice before you order raw food like me. I got the ceviche trio.
The good things: Came in on a Monday night around 7pm, got seated right away, no wait. Strawberry margaritas were delicious. I really like the pico that goes with the trio dip. My partner liked his full stack of ribs. The lobster ceviche was of favorite in the trio ceviche. They have their own parking lot so free parking.
Overall, most of the food was good, but for a place that is kinda expensive compared to others, the customer service was pretty bad, plus the nausea and tummy ache afterwards made it...

Their extensive knowledge of the menu is impressive, and they’re more than happy to guide you through the various offerings, making excellent recommendations along the way.
One of the highlights of the menu are the generous margaritas. Served in normal glass, but with a shaker left on the table to refill multiple times, they’re the perfect complement to the diverse and delectable array of dishes available. The food at Le Conte is nothing short of fantastic. From the Caprice tomato bread, which is a deliciously fresh and flavorful start, to the bacon-wrapped dates that offer a savory-sweet combination that is simply irresistible, every bite is a treat.
For the main course, I opted for the rack of lamb, which was beautifully cooked and paired with a creamy white wine risotto. The dish also included buttered asparagus, Parisian carrots, and a rich demi-glaze that tied all the flavors together seamlessly. My wife’s choice, the smokehouse burger, was equally impressive, boasting a smoky depth of flavor and perfectly cooked patty that she couldn’t stop raving about.
The restaurant also features a lovely patio area for those who prefer dining al fresco. It’s an excellent option for enjoying your meal outdoors, especially on pleasant evenings. The entire restaurant, including the patio, is impeccably clean, which only adds to the overall positive dining experience.
In summary, Le Conte Tapas & Grill is a standout dining destination with its great staff, excellent food, and inviting atmosphere. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty meal or just a relaxing evening with some great tapas and drinks, this restaurant has it all. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a top-notch...
