DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE ONLINE/ON YELP. CALL IN YOUR ORDER.
Listen to my tale of woe and learn from my mistakes. Me and my girlfriend were visiting the area and had rented a cabin in the mountains. We didn't really enjoy driving up and down to it so after a day of hiking we planned to settle in and get food delivered which is how we chose this place.
Our biggest mistake was ordering via Yelp. It seemed easy enough and we were told food would be there in an hour - we ordered around 8. Sounds great! Around 9 we called the restaurant, and here they messed up and didn't listen to us, and were told drivers were just delayed and it should be soon. We called back at 9:15 and were told the order had never been received - apparently Yelp/Eat24 switched their systems and didn't tell this restaurant. The order got put in and eventually arrived - at 11. We had fallen asleep by then. It really sucked and put a real downer on our last night at the cabin. Had we know they were this unreliable we would have stopped at a supermarket beforehand or something.
As for the food it's fine and a decent price. They know their demographic - people too drunk or otherwise messed up to drive. I thought for sure the Italian Hoagie being grilled was a typo but it is indeed hot - thankfully there's enough sports peppers on it to cut through the grease. The wings are on the smaller side but the BBQ sauce had a decent tang - and anything is tasty under blue cheese. We had also ordered a Sweet and Spicy Chicken Habanero Hoagie but they delivered it as a specialty chicken dish which was ok.
Overall the reason I don't completely trash them is that they drive up mountains nobody else really wants to drive to bring hungry people food - I respect that. I blame Eat24/Yelp for the mistakes that night - there is no reason to have someone on a platform without training them to use it. That being said even in a perfect world the food is mediocre and you're only ordering from here cause you can't drive and get...
Read moreIt was our first night in Gatlinburg and we needed food. We decided to order takeout from Big Bear based on a recommendation from the bartender at Westgate Southern Comfort. We ordered our food and within 5 mins they called us and said it was ready. Wow!! How do you make 2 pizzas, 2 burgers and wings in 5 mins and deliver it. The food was decent considering how quickly the turnaround was, but the thing that worried me the most was the mysterious missing piece from the burger (see photos) that looked identical to a human bite mark. It was also a lot pricier than the prices that were online. $90 for our order was a lot considering the quality. The wings were tiny and lacked substance and the pizza was on the greasy side.
I uploaded to ChatGPT to get its opinion : )
ChatGPT opinion:
That chunk missing from the patty and bun area does strongly resemble a human bite — for a few reasons:
🔍 What makes it look real: • Rounded, uneven shape: The missing section has the kind of curve and texture you’d expect from a bite. Machines usually cut more cleanly or symmetrically. • Cheese pull and crumbs: You can see the cheese is pulled and a bit smeared — like it was squished mid-bite, not sliced. Also, there are little loose crumbs typical of a bite tearing into a cooked surface. • Depth and tear: It’s not just one flat missing piece — there’s depth variation, which is common when teeth sink into something soft like a burger.
Could it be something else?
It’s possible (though unlikely) it was accidentally torn when the patty was being handled or stuck to the foil and pulled away unevenly. But if this came sealed and you didn’t touch it, the evidence leans much more toward it having...
Read moreAfter many, many orders we have placed at this place. I am not writing this review as the last time we will order from there. I work at a resort where we have always recommended guests to this place, for good pizza and nice people. Last night, as we got stuck at the resort due to weather precautions...we ordered 10 PIZZAS. The gentleman was nice that delivered and we tipped him well. Today, as once again, we are at the front office, we ordered lunch. We ordered 2 orders of BBQ chicken. Went on lunch, picked it up, brought it back and both orders are totally burnt. We called back, the lady said she would replace it. Went to pick it up, the order had 5 pieces of food in it and was once again, overdone. The lady at the front copped a quick attitude and as a refund at this point was requested...her reply was "Now you are costing me money". As a local, who orders from here as a convenience to location and usually good food. I will never, ever again place an order from here, I will never hand another flyer to a guest as a recommendation and I will will always recommend people elsewhere for their food. The last thing in this town anyone needs is terrible customer service at the front, there are too many other places to go to that I would be happier spending money. So be warned, the customer service is absolutely atrocious now and absolutely not worth dealing with. I will pay the extra money on other pizza...
