I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL.
We had so much fun with Gatlinburg Adventure Rentals that we wanted to go out again. That place was booked out, so we decided to try Adventure Haven since it had good ratings and the UTV we wanted. It was beyond hard to even book here.
While booking, I used a card I had saved on my phone. After I finished, I got an email saying the card had to match the driver's license of the person driving. Nowhere during checkout did it say anything about that! My husband quickly drove over there to try and figure out what we could do. Luckily, they let us switch to his bank account, but it was still a major headache.
We rented the Polaris Pro R two-seater. As the guy was doing the inspection, he told us the axle was making noise. We took it to Pigeon Forge for breakfast and then went to the Foothills Parkway.
About 45 minutes into driving around and looking at the foothills, the engine light comes on. The Polaris starts making a weird noise and won't go over 25 mph unless going downhill. We decided to drive 40 minutes in the opposite direction, all the way back to Gatlinburg. The whole time we were worried it was going to break down.
When we arrived back, the guy came out, shut it off, turned it back on, and took it for a spin. He told us he believed it was the belt. He went back inside to check when the belt was last changed—it was over 4,000 miles ago.
We asked if we could just have a refund and only pay for three hours, since that's how long we had the UTV. The guy told us he can't do that and doesn't have the power to. We asked if he could call the person who does, and he told us no. So, our only options were a voucher (only good for two years, and we live 12+ hours away and are leaving tomorrow, so that was useless) or taking the Honda Talon. We decided to go with the Honda Talon so we didn't waste our $500.
The Honda Talon was a major downgrade from the Polaris. The Polaris had a backup camera and handle bars. The Honda Talon didn't even have a rear view mirror, the handle bar for the passenger was missing, and the windshield was so scratched up you could barely see.
We were very disappointed with the downgrade, but we also wasted over two hours of our 10-hour rental just driving back, waiting for the guy, and driving back to where we started. We weren't even offered a discount or anything; he just said we didn't have to bring it back until 8:00 instead of 7:20.
When we finally returned it, the guy told us the Polaris belt had slipped because it had over 4,000 miles on it. If you look it up on Google or talk to people who have a UTV, the belt should be checked every 50 hours or 1,000 miles. According to several sources, you're lucky to get over 2,000 miles on these belts.
Due to this rental place's negligence to maintain their vehicles, we wasted our time and money. I do not recommend Adventure Haven unless you want to be...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a great place to rent a UTV, this place has really great staff that are super friendly and genuinely care about our overall experience. It was very easy to book online and was exactly what we had hoped for. They were kind enough to let us swap which vehicle we had rented online because we had more butts than seats with our original reservation after we got there. After the kindly checked and made sure it wasn’t rented for the later half of the day, we were able to get into the perfect ride for our needs. We unfortunately got caught in cades cove traffic longer than expected as well as gatlingburg so please make sure you allow a very bare minimum of 5 hours for this journey. I say this because we ended up taking much longer than expected even with minimal stopping for restroom breaks but the staff was very kind to us and wasn’t mean or ugly about the extra time we didn’t account for. Great experience, very kind staff and I highly recommend you give them a try. Our experience was a 10/10 and this was our second time renting with this company. We can’t wait to check out the guided off road...
Read moreChris and the team at Adventure Haven Tours made our family vacation! We made a reservation a few weeks ahead. When we showed up they discovered we had made it for the wrong date. We were fortunate they had a an available rental and got us quickly changed. Once we got settled Chris walked us through how to operate the UTV. Before we knew it we were off for hours of fun! We went through Roaring Fork, downtown Gatlinburg, and part of the park. Easily one of the highlights of this vacation and one of the coolest things we have done on vacation. If you are headed towards Gatlinburg reserve one now. Easy to drive and a really cool way to see the parks. Go see the team at Adventure...
