Update to my review, based on the owner's response below: If the champagne flutes were originally priced at $37.50 plus $30.00 for the personalization, that's still cheaper (or around the same price with tax) than the $73.00 we paid, so I fail to see where the alleged 40% discount came into play. When she says this could have been resolved if we had called the shop, we DID call the shop multiple times, at least 3 times, in addition to several text messages. I cannot believe she is trying to push the responsibility on me, when in reality her communication was poor. She did not set expectations well on the front end and was slow to respond, even after we reached out several times with questions. The level of customer service we experienced here is unacceptable. Barring her dismal communication, I was still interested in purchasing more items from her because the quality of the items we had received was excellent, but like I mentioned, she did not respond for a week. She didn't respond until I posted my review, actually, and even then she never addressed my inquiry around buying more items. The day I posted this review she did call and text me; I did not respond right away because I was at work, and by the time I was off work and in a place where I could call her, she had already posted her ridiculous response to this review. What hypocrisy, to charge me with not responding in hours when she hadn't responded to me in 7 days! I have changed this from a 3 star review, where I said I would still recommend the shop, to a 1 star review where I do not recommend anyone do business with To Have & To Hold.
Original review: I don't think I had the same experience at this shop that everyone else in these reviews did, unfortunately :( My mom and I went in to find some champagne glasses for my upcoming wedding, as well as some gifts for my bridesmaids. We picked out a set of beautiful champagne flutes to be personalized; on the box there was a sticker for $37.50, which seemed about right for a set of 4 champagne flutes, but when Dixie rang it up it was over $70. I didn't say anything because I really wanted the glasses and figured maybe the sticker got stuck on the wrong box, but either way, it still bothers me. I should have brought it up. I also picked out some bridesmaids' gifts to be personalized. We looked at some burlap bags to put the bridesmaids' gifts in, and Dixie said she would call the supplier the next day to see if she could get some bags in navy or burgundy for me. I told her that would work and that I might come back in later that week to look around some more.
About a week goes by, and I haven't heard from Dixie. My mom called her, and Dixie told my mom that she would be sending me some proofs to approve, which was alarming because I had approved the design when we were in the store and thought everything would already be done by then. I waited 2 days but never received anything from Dixie. I called and left her a voicemail. She called me back the next day and said she thought I was coming back to the shop; I said I had planned on it but didn't have the budget to shop for much more at the moment. She said she didn't know what I was waiting on from her. I told her that she had spoken to my mom and said she would be sending some proofs over, and Dixie then said she remembered and would send them over. She texted them to me, to which I immediately responded with approval. They were ready the next day for me to pick up, which was nice!
I texted her later that week to ask about coffee mugs, she said she would send me some proofs, and it's now been a week without hearing from her or receiving the proofs. I went to a different store instead this week and got what I needed. Just sucks because I've been trying to support local vendors throughout my wedding planning process.

   Read moreI don't enjoy writing negative reviews, but I just wanted to share our experience as an engaged couple with Dixie and To Have & To Hold. We met her at the Georgetown Bridal Show, and she told us to stop by at any time to come see the stationery options she had that would work for our wedding. When we popped in one Saturday, she told us we would need to make an appointment to come by, as there were too many to pull out quickly when other customers were in the store. We made an appointment for April 8th before the store opened.
April 8th came, we showed up, and the doors were locked and the lights were off. I called and left a message to see if she was inside somewhere, but no answer. We decided to walk around the square and pop back in when the store opened an hour and half later. She apologized, as she organizes events on the square and there was an atypically scheduled one on that day. We said no problem, we can reschedule in a few weeks, and agreed on today, May 6th, also before the store opened.
We show up again this morning to the same situation - lights off, door locked, and no answer to the phone. Left a message to let her know we would wait outside for about 15 minutes, but had a feeling this would end similarly. We couldn't wait around the square today, so we left, but she has not reached out in any way for any purpose - apology, reschedule, etc.
Thankfully we are preparing well in advance for our wedding and don't need our invitations any time soon, but bride beware if you are on a schedule. Dixie is a very pleasant woman but it is evident that she has a lot on her plate as a business owner and community member, so it is evident that your wedding is not her priority.    Read moreDixie easily. EASILY gave us the best experience throughout our wedding planning process. I was referred through a friend and couldn’t be happier. We got our invites, koozies, napkins, bridesmaid gifts, and cups all personalized with Dixie/to have and to hold.
Everything was very personal to us and we were provided with proofs before anything was printed or sent off. Dixie took feedback and had final proofs back so fast. I can’t say a single bad thing about Dixie & To Have & To Hold. I have referred 3 different couples to her since working with her & they are all so excited to start working with Dixie.
