The Exchange of Georgetown, Consignment Boutique — Local services in Georgetown

During my first trip to Georgetown I looked up thrift shops and this was one of the places that popped up. I’m so glad that I stopped here! I have a favorite thrift/consignment shop in Austin that I frequent, and this store really reminded me of that place. The Exchange does a fabulous job of curating and displaying items that are on trend and pieces that you actually want to buy, unlike some thrift shops that put everything on a hanger and hope for the best. Because the curation is so good, it did not take me long to get an armful of clothes which one of their employees so kindly helped me move to a dressing room. For a smaller shop, they had two really nice sized dressing rooms. I tried on at least a dozen or more pieces while I visited that day and went home happy with a large bag of beautiful clothes that were new to me. The prices here are also very good. The Exchange, new and improved by the owner, Lauren, is one of my favorite places to shop. I don’t view this store necessarily as a thrift store, but more of a used boutique since the staff is particular about the items that they sell, which is fantastic for the consumer! Everything is in incredible condition and like new. I used to really enjoy places like Goodwill or Plato‘s closet, or even Buffalo exchange in Austin, but over the past few years their standards have dropped, while prices have been raised. But here at the exchange, I can always count on high end pieces at very affordable prices. Had an amazing experience here today! I needed a few items for my grandson over the weekend and was trying to avoid a department store. I called ahead just to make sure they carried 18mo sizes and Amanda answered. She immediately told me she would check out the inventory to make sure she had some choices. When I arrived, 4min later, she had already pulled several pieces for us and was so helpful through the entire experience. On top of great customer sercice, I looked around and found that their quality and pricing were more than fair!
