If you're on the lookout for a place that delivers both on taste and hospitality, The Killer Taco should be on your radar. My recent visit left me thoroughly impressed, not just by the food but by the warmth of the staff, who clearly go out of their way to make you feel at home. We started our meal with the Cowboy Taco Brisket and Pork Belly. The combination of tender brisket with the rich, savory pork belly was an explosion of flavors. Each bite was perfectly balanced, with the smokiness of the brisket complementing the succulent pork belly. It’s a hearty taco that leaves a lasting impression. Next up were the Smoked Brisket Barbacoa Eggrolls. This dish takes a creative spin on traditional barbacoa, wrapping it in a crispy eggroll that’s fried to perfection. The smokiness of the brisket paired with the crunchy exterior was a match made in heaven. It’s a dish that’s perfect for sharing, though you might be tempted to keep it all to yourself! The highlight of our meal was the weekly special: the Soft Shell Crab Taco. Soft shell crab can be tricky, but The Killer Taco nailed it. The crab was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, paired with just the right amount of seasoning. It’s a taco that you won’t easily forget and one that I hope becomes a regular menu item. And just when our thought the experience couldn’t get any better, the friendly owner offered a complimentary beer. It’s rare to find a place that offers such value for money while delivering on quality and service. The Killer Taco is more than just a taco joint; it’s a place where you can enjoy good food, great service, and leave feeling like you’ve gotten every penny’s worth. I highly recommend stopping by and experiencing it for yourself—you won’t be disappointed.

My husbands office is in the gtown area him and his business partners sometimes come here for lunch, he always came home and raved about how good it was and wanted to bring the family, so this Saturday March 1st around 12 we drove 45 mins from our home to check it out, we could visibly see they were busy, no biggie, however when it came to our time to order the guy seemed overwhelmed and mentioned it would take awhile (totally understandable) we ordered our tacos I asked for the spicy slaw on the side as I cannot do spicy which seemed to ruffle his feathers so I quickly said nvm to leave as is. we also wanted onion rings , Barbacoa egg rolls & fries for our 4 y/o who isn’t a fan of tacos he responded that they were not doing fries or anything fried because it would take to long, with which I replied okay that’s fine and we went our way except the next family behind us who just so happened to be white ordered a basket of fries. This obviously made us upset as my babygirl didn’t get anything to eat so my husband asked the guy “are y’all doing fries now” and he said “no” so my husband pointed to the family and said okay because they have fries to which he said “well they ordered a basket that comes with fries” our minds were blown because if he had just told us “no fries unless you order a basket” we would have definitely ordered a basket. Such a terrible experience, I really wanted to love this place because the food was good but the service did it for us. My husband was so embarrassed and said when he comes with the office guys for lunch his attitude is totally different. After that we went to our usual taco spot Mickey Vs (try it) where we have always felt welcomed and got my daughter her French fries 😌

I followed up on an advertising link this morning for "The Killer Taco". I was immediately hungry and proceeded to round up the household to go try it out. We arrived and noticed that the cook was in need of some help because his employee was out sick for the day (These things happen). He gave everyone a heads-up in line that it would be a few extra minutes to place an order. He set a realistic expectation on how long the wait might be. Based on the food I was looking at on the tables in front of me, I had no problem waiting at all! We ordered lobster and beef brisket tacos and french fries. The tacos were the best tacos I have ever had in my 55 years. The portions were great, the tacos were big, and overall the tacos looked like something out of a food magazine. The taste was amazing. Two things I would suggest. First, it is great that this guy cares enough about his customer base to offer very expensive selections of hot sauce on each of his tables. In my opinion the food is so good that hot sauce is overkill. I love hot sauce but decided that I couldn't put it on something that was already perfect. Secondly, I admire his pricing choices for the lobster taco but in my opinion, I would have expected to pay about 5.00 more for it than what he is charging. (I would have gladly paid more for them). I feel his food is that great in taste, portion size and appearance that he could justify charging more as a way to help his bottom line and still be reasonable (I used to own and run restaurant chains). From one Veteran to another, Thank you for your service and thank you for such a great meal.

REVIEW UPDATE BELOW - NOT A GOOD ONE. WORST EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE!!! I can NO LONGER support this place due to a serious health scare and their horrible attitude about it! Yes, wordy, yes, very upset. I asked for NO avocado on a taco, as I'm extremely allergic & said so. The daily menu has NO ingredient details, but I ASKED & got an "ok" - so I trusted them. 🥑 WAS added - hidden by sauce, by the 2nd bite, I quickly felt the metallic taste & my mouth began to water. While I rushed to my car to grab my epi-pen & other meds, my friend took the taco to the window & informed the staff. *THIS IS THE KICKER - the cook told my friend HE WAS "TOO BUSY WITH ORDERS AND DIDN'T HAVE TIME FOR SPECIAL ORDERS!!" NO apologies, NO attempt to rectify the situation with good customer service, & NOT EVEN AN ATTEMPT TO ASK IF I WAS OK (I was busy heaving by my car). Now upset, epi-penned & queezy, I still tried to civilly address the situation as I retrieved my things to go, but both workers still acted too bothered to give a damn, repeating the "busy" issue. *Make note, Killer Taco: an allergic specification is NOT the same as other special orders, & it would have benefitted your "busy schedule" by not adding the extra ingredient! ONLY as we were in the car, leaving for further care, did you bother to come out from the food truck, as what seemed ONLY in attempt to justify your situation to other customers who witnessed the situation. Instead of recognizing the heartless behavior you displayed - the kind that brings a lawsuit faster than you can flip another taco - you chose to double down on your attitude. With continued despicable service like today - irritation & anger over care, sooner or later someone will sue you if poor service doesn't ruin you first. Such situations are scary! And now I've paid hard-earned money for a miserable experience (not even an offer to comp the error, though that wasn't the goal), when kindness & understanding could have prevented this post, calmed a stressfull situation, and possibly saved you the loss of a number of customers. Though I avidly support veteran businesses, including this one in the past, I simply don't trust you with my well-being, and with great places like Juan & Lupes & Mikey V's for awesome tacos and caring service, this place is no longer worth the recommendation!

**REVIEW UPDATE: KT, your retort is rich with lies (I assume to deflect from your actions). I'll address them, & others can back them up. I did learn that my husband also left a review; that part is true. He's a good man who was worried, & livid to hear about your poor behavior regarding my well-being, but I can fight my own battles. He'll address that himself. I scanned reviews after your response; more often, your 'go-to' is to attack reviewers by calling the customer rude & a liar. That's a bad reflection on you - not the customer. 1st, I CLEARLY stated my allergy, as did my friend; we both witnessed the ticket order being corrected. 2nd, how dare you now tell me I should EXPECT avocado on a taco, especially when it's NOT posted on your menu board - it WASN'T an ingredient on my friend's taco. 3rd, I DIDN'T eat ½ - I spit out the 2nd bite. It was my friend who ate her taco; after hiking, she needed food, so I told her to eat while (4th & 5th) I WAS at my car, dealing with epi-pen, etc, & calling my husband to be on standby; it was my friend who asked for the re-do (which was bagged & given away), trying to somehow help more, as y'all made NO offers of assistance. (6th)You NEVER checked on me or apologized - more lies to swallow. "Sorry, but we're too busy for special orders" is NOT apologizing! Lawsuit? Read more thoroughly: I said with such behavior, "sooner or later 'someone' will sue you..." I didn't indicate me. Though people are telling me I should, I got to my epi-pen & other meds immediately; though nauseous & a bit itchy, I didn't require a hospital stay. I figured the review was enough. Your mean, false defamation, however, has encouraged me to let many others know to be wary of you - and I know a...
