The guy who came out to do my car did excellent. He was out working in a hot sun and went out of his way to make sure that he was able to do as much as possible to make sure he got his job done.
That being said...
I tend to make sure to ask questions to the employees when it comes to services like these. I do this in order to know what I need to tip them. The guy who came out wasn't able to say much. Probably because he didn't know much. But this is what I was able to ascertain:
The employer seemed to have people working for him. Which is fine, not a problem. But he quoted me $150.00 for a full detail. I expected a full-blown cleaning and detail. Shampoo, door jams, vacuum, was, all of that.
I asked the employee if he's paid a wage or if he's commission. He said that he receives a cut for every service that he does. However, he said that he doesn't know what his cut is by whichever service he does. This tells me that he most likely does the same job, regardless of how much it costs, and then sees his pay come to him. Which also tells me that his employer just gives you some BS price and the employee just comes and does his job, regardless of what you pay. In other words, you get scammed.
I paid the $150.00, knowing this. Because I had the feeling that if I didn't, then the employee would see this cut from his work. He was out there in the sun for four hours, and all, so it would suck to not get paid for it. I'm not going to feel the need to punish this guy because his employer is a scammer.
There was a tip option on the digital receipt that he sends to you via text. I decided against it. There seems to be a growing trend where any tip that you provide to certain services go straight to the employer and not the person doing the labor. So I tipped in cash. And would recommend to everyone that they do the same. It's not right for employers to take advantage over someone else's hard work just because they employ them. I got the feeling that this was the same.
If it wasn't for the job that the employee did, he would have received one-star. We need to be helpful to our own, and come together, instead of finding a way to hustle another person out of their money. Doing this only makes our struggle harder. I hope that someday the guy who runs this business...
Read moreNever again. The person washing my car showed up late and didn't even bother with an excuse. I mean at least come up with something. Also, I was informed when I called in that the approximate time to wash my car would be 1.5 hours. Unfortunately. 2.5 hours later, the person was still not done washing my car. I had an appointment and told the person that I needed to go, so my car was not finished. Still charged for what was not 100% complete though. Because that will bring customers coming back...yeah right.
For a mobile service, there should not be anything required of me. The person washing my car requested to use my apartment's car washing area equipment. Also, the person was searching for an outlet for awhile and ended up plugging the vacuum plug in my place of residence. My car particularly the exterior looks the same as it did before the person did any work on it.
I received a call from car genie mobile customer service confirming I received my invoice and I expressed my concerns. The representative proceeds to present rebuttals to my complaints. Ummm no sir! No customer service. Like I said at the beginning,...
Read moreThis service was an absolute disappointment. They initially wanted me to pay before services which is a red flag. I declined and they stated it was not a requirement, why ask that if it’s not. I specifically asked for a service to remove a smell out of my car , from a spilled protein shake which would require I would assume shampooing the seats , this did not happen.. The car was detailed in the inside which included vacuuming, cleaning and wiping down surfaces, the inside windows were not cleaned, and I was told an enzyme was added to kill the bacteria. There was not any shampooing done which I was told would happen. several days later the smell remained.. I paid 190.00 dollars for a service which produced...
