I was passing through Gig Harbor and stopped at Clark's one day out of curiosity, not really intending to find a wedding ring as much as just start to see what was out there. I had a notion that a small family jeweler would have more unique offerings and better service. This proved to be totally accurate. There were a number of unique estate pieces, one of which I was pretty taken by. But then I started gazing into another case and found other really appealing rings. They were so patient with me as I considered the options, and we're never pushy about buying anything or giving me the impression that I was wasting their time. Having never bought a wedding ring before I had a million questions, which they answered thoughtfully even though I was not committed to buying anything. In the end, the ring I bought was perfect and much loved by my bride to be. I later had a customized alteration done to it to add to the design, and this turned out fantastic and took about a week as promised. I also went back for my own wedding band, after looking at a few places in Tacoma out of convenience, but not finding the kind and considerate service that we had at Clark's. I would recommend this jeweler to anyone looking for new or old pieces, custom work, or really interesting knives made with handles of fossilized dinosaur bone and petrified wood. Stop in for a good conversation even if you're not after...
Read moreWe stopped into Clark’s Jewelers on our first stop wanting to support local businesses. We really enjoyed our time with Michael, but wanted to check out the big name stores with larger inventories. The more we shopped that day, the more we liked our first experience at Clark’s Jewelers. We were shopping for an engagement ring so it had to be perfect. While they didn’t have exactly what we wanted in stock, Michael was able to make my bride to be EXACTLY what she wanted. The quotes we received at other stores were much higher for not exactly what she wanted too. He earned a customer for life. This level of service is so rare anymore...
UPDATE 4 YEARS LATER
Michael has been fantastic to work with over the past few years. He can find you anything and has some really nice vintage pieces on consignment now. My wife and I stop in to clean our wedding sets while enjoying visiting and checking out new inventory. Recently I texted Michael with a last minute anniversary gift request and he was able to accommodate my needs effortlessly. Having a jeweler you can trust a text away is absolutely priceless. Like I said on my initial post- this level of service is so rare anymore. And no, this level of service doesn’t come at a premium. His prices are competitive. Do yourself a favor and drop in to have a conversation with this honest local business owner before making your...
Read moreI recently took my almost 25 year old wedding set in for a repair. Being new to the area I wasn’t sure what jeweler I should go to so with the recommendation from some new friends I chose Clark’s Jewelers. I met with Michael who looked over my ring and then gave me an explanation of what would need to be done along with the cost estimate and anticipated length of time it would take to complete the repair. He was spot on as to the length of time for the repair. While it cost just a little more than the original estimate I was fine with that because all the prongs needed to be built back up to better secure the main diamond. When I picked up my ring I only did a quick glance at it because I was in a hurry and everything looked fine. When I got back to my office I looked at the ring more closely. That’s when it almost took my breath away. The ring looked brand new!! The gold portions of the ring no longer had any scratches from the many years of normal wear and the diamonds had tremendous sparkle and were well secured in the setting - it looked flawless. Needless to say I am ecstatic with the result. Michael and his goldsmith did a phenomenal job and I am so happy to say that I now have a local jeweler who will take care of any jewelry I bring to him. I can’t recommend Clark’s Jewelers enough. In my opinion they are the Best...
