We like to walk to this Subway for lunch, from our business at Lighthouse Nutrition and Wellness in Gig Harbor, just a few blocks away :). I LOVE that, at Subway, we can get our dose of veggies in at lunch. We always pile them on. The workers are pretty fast and friendly, place is relatively clean.
The ONLY thing that I don't like about this location is that the music is not only loud, but their radio plays full of static and a lot of times is country music, the kind of which i'm not too crazy about. Also, as a dietitian, (and no, they're not paying me to write this) I'm always looking for healthy places to eat out (when not preparing healthy meals at home).
One thing that irritates me a lot about Subway in general is that they tout healthy food, but sell "freshly baked cookies" right next to the cashier so you're tempted to "aw, just throw one in," and ruin your weight loss plan for the day.
Subway is also known for their healthier sides like whole grain Sunchips apple slices, etc. for kids. Yogurts have a lot of sugar though. Nice to know someone is trying to care for kids' health.
If not for the staticky radio and the extra will power I have to dole out at the cashier, i'd give them a 5-star. Definitely will be going back! They're one of the healthiest places for lunch in town, if you do it right (lots of veggies, hold the sauce - you're getting cheese anyway, etc etc). In fact, I'm hungry...
Read moreFor those who are taking safety precautions during covid (and who basically just have a little common decency) I do NOT recommend this establishment. I visited this Subway on Saturday, 4/17/21 a bit after 1pm and found that the folks waiting in line in front of me weren't bothering with masks - one man wasn't even wearing a mask and he was talking and laughing with three other people who had masks on that didn't cover their nose. I waited around for 10-15 minutes in hopes that as they approached the counter the staff would ask them to mask up or get out, but when the guy who was maskless got to the counter the staffer simply started taking the order. That's when I decided to leave, only after informing the group that they should be wearing their masks (and correctly), and one had the gall to follow me out and snidely wish me a nice day. Not a safe establishment, I wish the staff had refused them service; I was recording in case the maskless customer was going to cause trouble upon being asked to abide by the mask policy, but instead I simply...
Read moreI stopped here today, So Terrible!!!!! First, I had to wait and then say hello loud to just get help. Second, while he started my sandwich he had to run to the back for more product. He then came back with the new and stuck it in the cooker. While waiting he started peeling the label of the old lexan and brushed what little he pulled off on the side of the trash can bag. He then continued to make my sandwich without washing his hands or replace his gloves. I then went to pay and asked about the 10% off for area workers, As I had been told by the other location near ace that since I worked in the area for a local food place I can get it! He said they only offer it to places in that plaza! So not only did I get a tainted sandwich, he wouldn't honor a fellow local worker the same discount as the other location in...
