We just had the worst experience tonight. We have been going here for years at least once a week. We are definitely regulars. It was rainy and cold tonight and when we walked in, the only tables available in the front room were right by the door and a six topper. When we hesitated on where to sit, the tall young man that usually serves us said that those two tables were our only two choices, very rudely. They have a whole other side with about 8 tables available and there were two couples over there eating. I just told my husband, "Let's just go." That's when the waiter said across the room, "Have a good night! We'll see you next year!" Unbelievable! It is crazy to me how we have tipped him 25%-30% for years for his sub par service and this is how we were treated. It's not the first time he has been extremely rude.
Follow up from last night's incident.
WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!! Just called Kinza to speak to the owners! The young man that was so rude answered the phone and said he is the owner and he started yelling at me. I tried to calm him down and say let's try and work this out I love your place. He said, I have been serving you for years with a smile on my face and I said, "And we have paid you for your service. We always tip you 30%" He shot back, "You think I care about your five dollars??? I don't care! Your husband has a weird energy about him and he has a bad look in his eyes!" I am not making this up!!!! Can you believe it?????? What a...
Read moreObjective review. I walked in the place looked nice. It was a seat yourself style place. I chose a seat by the window. The waiter asked if I were alone I said yes. He told me the table I chose was for groups of 5 or more. He said I could choose any table on the other side of the wall. I chose the only seat by a window. The next waiter for that area asked if I were alone, I said yes. He told me I could not sit at this table and to choose another table. I looked around for other seats and noticed all the open tables were the same size. The other tables were taken by other small groups of customers. Tired of being rejected on my choice of tables and noticing all other choices were the same I began to walk out as the waiter talked to my back sarcastically saying "Perfect! Thanks so much, have a great day." On this day I was feeling very generous as I had received a big tip from a client. I wanted to pay it forward. This place did not respect the "seat yourself" aspect they have and asked me to move twice. I could not give any other review as to how the food was, the timing of it or even if the wait staff...
Read moreWe ordered takeout from Kinza Teriyaki today for our family and it was exactly what we needed. The food was fresh, flavorful, and ready right on time. Everyone ate until they were satisfied, and we are lucky enough to have leftovers for tomorrow a total win.
We ordered the Korean fried chicken (boneless not quite the classic version, but still delicious), combo fried rice with kimchi cucumbers, teriyaki chicken, and short ribs. Everything was cooked beautifully. One thing that really stood out was the salad, it came with its own house-made dressing, which had way more flavor and care than what you usually get at teriyaki spots in the area.
The space is clean, calm, and welcoming, and the service from Sarah, the owner, was truly wonderful. She is warm, attentive, and clearly puts pride into both the food and the customer experience.
Also worth celebrating they are open on Sundays, which is rare around here and a major bonus on a hot day when no one wants to cook. Thank you, Sarah and team, for such a great meal. We will...
