Sept 7, 2023 It is always well stocked, people are friendly, goods and services are top notch. Wonderful organic selection. Plenty of parking. Shelves in all areas except for toilet paper , paper towels, cases of water were low. Worers erre stocking as we picked up our items. The Christmas items were in and I picked up a Bluy house with what I think are all the characters that apoear on the Austrailian top watched cartoon show. He is quite the cannine. Workers are still top notch and are as helpful as ever. We arrived at 4pm and it eas not crowded. We pulled right up to the pumps at the Costco gas station. I noticed the attendant was wiping down all the fill hoses and at the key pad and handle area. A few were wearing masks in the store as lately there is an upswing of Covid. Didn't pick up many items today so we decided against using the self checkout. This was our prior experience with that. .. What a mistake! We are shopping in a warehouse, where every item is mostly double, in other words large. We put our items in the cart with barcodes up to facilitate checkout. No wonder people dont use self checkout, You have to take everything out of the cart, put it in front of the scanner, place it on the counter. After everything was scanned and you've paid you can put it back in the cart. I dont mind doing this at the grocery store as most items don't weigh a lot. Not so at Costco. It is ridiculous to check out this way when a hand scanner can cut your time in half. The Costco attendant had to come over and scan 2 trellises. She was busy helping others so again time spent at the checkout held us and everyone else up. Not having a hand scanner was not a good choice by Costco corporate. If product loss is their reason for no hand scanners, they need a better camera system or AI to do the camera observation. Whatever the outcome, it's not worth it to me to use self check. I get my weight lifting at the gym. Today we avoided the self scan and got in line for a live person. At least I think she was alive. . She scanned my card and said thanks and promptly ignored us as a coworker was helping her with scanning the cart items between solving the personal problems of the checkout girl. I hated to leave not knowing how the saga of, "then he said", turned out. After all I was emotionally invested in what should have been a matter to be discussed after work or at least in the break room. NOT IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS!!! You want customers to have enjoyed their shopping experience. These two should be separated and out straightening clothes or another job you do by yourself. Back to...
Read moreafter making a purchase there's a Costco employee that checks your receipt making sure that it's all good. and this is at the exit. so there's a good amount of families that get in one of two lines. I was with my family I chose the left line and after the employee check my receipt everything was all good. the employee check-in receipts on the right line shouts "you didn't pay for that". I was thinking I was going to see somebody stealing and I was going to see some action. but the Costco employee March is over with their arms out all the families looking at me and my family grab the food on the bottom of my cart she didn't even look at my receipt I don't know how she figured that I was trying to take some kind of food I just spent $400 on bunch of goodies my cart was full of food. so I hand her the receipt I'm so embarrassed. I take a good look around and I am the only American besides my family that I see.... including the Costco employee she was not. I'm so offended to be publicly humiliated singled out I wasn't going to start to argue I just let her take it I left she kept the receipt with the oranges and potatoes. I'm a person that is confident hard-working prideful for who I am. where I'm from. I'm as American as can possibly be this woman racially profiled me.... it's criminal her behavior. and it's being protected. Example: I'm in a line and the person behind me coughs at me. he's standing about 2 ft away and he's in conversation in a foreign language I look back I don't say nothing they're talking he coughs a second time. so I say excuse me now he says if I have a problem in normal tone i look him in the face and said don't do that again don't cough at me..... in elderly man says racial remark to a teenager that happens to be black. the teenager says check yourself old man the old man replace in his foreign language a racist remark the elderly man thinking can't be touched or else. well low and behold it's all on camera on the 10:00 news the actions the teenager took pushing the elderly man..... I'm not condoning. something has to be done you cannot get away with talking or talk I'm thinking they can't be touched and they're putting laws into place protecting themselves and allowing their behavior to continue on.......

Visited today trying to add a new house hold member to my membership today. We waited 10 minutes inline at the membership counter making no progress so I decided to head to the food court with my family first. To my surprise the staff who was “busy” helping the previous customer at to counter rushed over to ask if we have a membership card and demand to check the photo on my card. Quite an odd thing to do considering they checked my card at the entrance once already. The staff then returned to the counter to serve the previous customer immediately which makes us feel targeted for no apparent reason.
We returned to the counter to finish what we originally came to do. Unfortunately the same staff shows up to help. He asked my mother to verify if she lives under the same address as me which she gladly provided our current living address. The guy informed me that the address is incorrect which makes me second guess if I forgot to update my membership address. The staff also said he “advise against” changing my address online at home for unknown reason. I only found out after we got home that the address we provided at the counter did match the address on my account so the guy straight up lied to us and wasted our time.
I was surprised by the subtle hostility shown by that staff member as I’ve never encountered such problem when I visited Costco before. The only difference today was me taking my family with me who isn’t the most fluent in English. We did nothing out of the ordinary during our visit today which lead me to suspect, if not convinced, that our ethnicity played a part in our subpar experience today. Very...
