Stop & Shop — Local services in Glastonbury

Very dissatisfied with the deli. I normally buy my deli meats from ShopRite. ShopRite will sell the end of the deli meats and cheeses at a reduced price so nothing is wasted. When I asked the deli man at stop n shop if they do this he said no that they just throw away the ends. In fact when he was done slicing my lunch meat he went to throw away the about an inch and a half of the end meat. Of course I bought it. But I will never buy deli cheese and meat there again. I can not and will not support waste like that. Please check with your stop n shop if this is where you get deli meat. If they do the same and waste food please stop buying their deli meat and cheese. Food waste is a huge problem and it can be corrected if brought to light. Addendum: 10/18/22 so I called the number that what given to me by the owner on his response. I ended up with a representative that could only forward my concern to upper management. So I don't suppose any changes will be coming. My suggestion is if you are going to throw away the ends, offer them free to the person who is getting the first part of the product and the last. Not many people give up free food. Then you eliminate waste, build a giving environment and stop food waste. If they don't want it offer it to the next. VERY DISSATISFIED WITH CASHIER WHO CHECKED OUT MY ORDER!!! First, when I got to her line, no one was there and she was talking to another store employee. She didn't acknowledge me until she was done with her conversation! I asked her to bag my order with produce items together, freezer items together, eggs and bread together and so on. Plain common sense when it comes to bagging!!! When I asked her to do this it was obvious she didn't appreciate my request. She over bagged and I needed to stop and rearrange my order to make sure nothing was damaged in transit. I shop for other people and each time something is damaged, it goes against me! I wasn't rude and thanked her at the end of the order. I have NEVER had an issue at this store. In fact, I have spoken with the store manager to give positive feedback in regards to another store employee in the past. I was very disappointed with the service I received from this woman. This particular location used to be much nicer once it open. With the octagon glass shaped windows looking outside as you walked into the floral department, breathtaking. Why did they have to go and close up the windows? I find their prices to be inflated compared to other supermarkets. Especially if you drive to the Stop & Shop in Colchester, things are so much cheaper. Same supermarket, 20 minutes away. Why don’t they stay consistent across the board?

Although it’s out of my way to go to ShopRite, their prices seem to be much more in line with the normal. I have another issue with Stop & Shop rewards program. Why would they let their points expire after 30 days? We pay bucks to shop there. Just when I’m about to get $.10 off per gallon. The points expire.
