I ordered 2 custom cakes for a daddy daughter milestone birthday. I brought pictures in and discussed all the details with Miri. My daughters cake kind of resembled the picture but I was hoping for a better placement of the fondant sunflowers I gave Miri to use (which had a thin wire attached to the back for any kind of position on the cake) It was also missing the leaf stems Miri said she had to weave in to give it a full elegant appearance (even though I offered to go to the dollar store and get them for her) to me, it looked like Miri rushed or didn't look at the picture I gave her while she was decorating the cake. The cake was also the wrong flavors, I asked for Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Fudge filling but we got vanilla frosting filling instead. My husbands cake was supposed to be wrapped in edible wafer paper of more Modern day crisp bluish/grey $100 bills over butter cream frosting. Her printer printed the bills green and blurry, she said it was resolution on her printer but I don't see how that is possible. I wish she would have communicated to me that she could not achieve the look I wanted, I could have ordered the bills online and dropped them off, like I did the fondant sunflowers. You would think paying almost $500 for 2 cakes, at very least the flavors would be correct and more communication. Keep in mind the price did not include any of the Ferrero Rocher, alcohol or fondant sunflowers.
Miri, To respond to your reply. I ordered the cake 16 days in advance. Originally I told you, she wanted chocolate mouse filling but wanted to confirm. You told me that you make the cakes same day and not to worry we had time. The ticket says white buttercream frosting for the outside, but no filling was written down. I told you 3 days in advance for the Chocolate fudge filling when I dropped off the sunflowers at your shop. Remeber the 1st set of flowers shipped to me broken and I had to reorder them. You told me at that time good choice, you should have told me you werent going to do it and I would have stuck with the Chocolate mousse. The dollar bills were not supposed to be provided because you showed me the picture on your phone what you were going to print out and not to worry you would handle it. The dollar bills do not match what you showed me. I did not have time to debate the outcome of the cakes the day I picked them up because afterwards I had to run to chicago and pick up all the food for the party. Since the cake was going to be delivered I decided to order pastries from this bakery to be delivered along with the cake at the venue. I asked Silvia the woman who took my order (on a different day) if I can have these delivered along with the cake and she told me that it won’t be a problem since it’s going to the same place. Silvia wrote down my sister’s info on my order bc she said so that the bakers know that both orders go together and attached my pastries order along with the cake order. A day before the wedding she called my sister and asked if we were going to pick the pastries order or delivered. My sister confirmed that the pastries be delivered with the cake at noon which is what was written on the order. The cake arrived between 12:40-12:50. The pastries were not delivered. I called the bakery and asked where my order was and I was told that I never asked for the pastries to be delivered. I explained to the bakery that I did and who I talked to and I over heard the baker ask Silvia if I told her that it was for a delivery. Silvia yelled out no, a bold face lie. I explained to the baker about the order and asked that they deliver the pastries within the hour since the ceremony began at 1pm and the event ends at 4pm . The baker told me they were too busy to deliver it and refused to refund my money. I had no time to pick up the order since the ceremony was going to begin within 5 minutes of the call. I’m in the process of disputing this charge. The bakery needs to take accountability for their error. Seeing that they were unwilling to correct the issue and didn’t receive the pastries is highly unprofessional. I texted her Saturday morning to see when I should pick the cake up, and didnt hear from her. So I drove to the shop it had a open sign (this was at 10:40 am) however, the door was closed and there was a written sign that said closed 6/22. So I texted her to see what time the cake can be picked up and she goes i can't make for you i overbooked. I wouldn't be annoyed if she had told me this when I originally texted her I know it was last minute but all you had to do was say I apologize I can't do last minute and that would've been that.
