Wow just had one of those above and beyond services that I never even demanded or thought to experience in all my life casually supporting LCS all over the world and my current home state.
There are times where for special occasions I will call the shop out of curiosity if they have any of the titles I'm hunting for available. This is simply to give me a priority purchase for when I stop by during days I have a day away from work.
Otherwise I love (and prefer) randomly exploring what their stock offers and gotta give it to legacy comics which just happens to be the closest lcs that I live at, they do have valuable employees that go the extra effort in providing meaningful interactions with their patrons.
Here's a much deserved cheers to the owner Howard Chen & the employee that happened to be helping me today (Alfredo). All I did was inquire if they happened to have the Descender Compendium in stock today and at first they did not, due to shipping issues (very common more often than not with distributors such as Diamond).
Only a couple mins later, the asked for item did arrive and Alfredo rung me back and informed me that it just literally came in. Really appreciated that kind gesture cause that alone shows a strength in Small Businesses that can't be replicated in more corporate chain franchises or online only eCommerce businesses.
Overall, the 2 interconnecting shops themselves houses on one side Western Media (Magic TCGs and western comics) while the other more Asian (Japanese products such as Yugioh and Mangas/Manhwas/Manhuas).
The best part about Legacy I do got to praise is that despite still being on the smaller side of retail space had. They somehow succeed in having a great balance on nerd interests products from not just comics to cards and figures. However! I am thankful that Comics/Mangas are still the priority with a surprising amount of Indies/Seinens cause that is what I love exploring for in these Brick & Mortar Gems.
~Best Regards fellas from a Comic Loving yet still a healthy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been frequenting card/comic shops since I was a teenager and I have never experienced the level of rude customer service that I received hereā¦twice this week!
I popped in a few days ago on my way home from work (about 10 minutes before they closed) looking to buy a few single MTG cards. As I walked in the door the employee behind the counter shouted āsorry weāre actually closedā. Despite the fact that there were several other people in the store playing card games, so I left.
I just stopped in again at about 6:45 tonight, looking to buy the same single MTG cards that I tried to buy a few days ago. The employee behind the counter was talking with 2 guys while the tables were full of people playing card games, so I walked around looking at comic books to be polite. After the 2 customers left, the employee was going through a deck of MTG cards with another guy. I noticed it was was about 5 minutes before closing, so I went up and asked about purchasing the few single MTG cards that I needed. The employee told me that they were actually closed (again), even though the store was still full of people playing card games and the employee was still going through cards with the other guy at the counter. After I walked out, I saw and heard the employee lock the doors behind me.
I recently moved to Glendale and live within walking distance of Legacy cards and comics. Needless to say, I will not be returning to my āLGSā anytime soon.
Iām not even as angry about my experiences as I am disappointed. Iāve never been treated this rude and disrespectfully as a customer at a card/comic shopā¦and Iāve...
Read moreI recently purchased an early generation Pokémon booster box from Legacy Comics and Cards and had it shipped out to Australia. The staff were great to deal with, however the product i had received fell short of my expectation. It was listed as 'sealed' but when I received it, the outside plastic of the box had a tear. Considering I had paid a premium price for this product ($1500 USD) I expected it to be true to it's advertisement and be completely sealed. The store responded to me when I questioned them saying that I hadn't specifically asked for it to be in pristine condition. I feel as though I have been taken advantage of in this case, when they were well aware of the tear whilst we were in the negotiation phase and chose not to disclose it to me.
I question the integrity of this store based off my personal experience.
EDIT: the response from the store below has a large proportion edited out by them to not include key parts of our conversation. I would post the remainder here if i wasnt limited by the word count. This further inclines me to question...
