We've lived in Denver for 8 years and have been to all the museums we can find. But we always thought that this museum didn't apply to us as we're not involved in mountaineering. But today we thought we'd give it a try and it was great! It's located in the old Golden High School, which in itself is a treat to visit. The front door on the south side is not the entrance - you have to walk around to the door on the west or north side. Their are no employees. You check in at a kiosk, use a tablet to pay with credit card, or put cash in a box - genius! We spent about an hour looking at the exhibits and watching several interesting videos about amazing climbing treks. You can't miss the scale model of Mt Everest! ...

There's alot of little offices but the exhibit is in what I believe is an old auditorium If I have my history right this is the golden high school. I was deeply moved to see the climbers of Yosemite John long, Lynn Hill etc ...I think they might have even had a picture...
