Purchased a recliner for over $1k a few months ago. Noticed however that the chair was becoming quite uncomfortable.
The springs in the lower back were starting to push through the stuffing (not through the fabric). You could feel the wood frame along the bottom of your thighs and rear end on the seat. We have been unable to sit in the chair for almost 2 months due to the pain it caused. Called the Goodyear store where we purchased, they referred me to a call center. The call center was nice, said looks like the chair needs to be restuffed, chair was under warranty, no problems.
Several weeks later, service guy shows up.
However, he refused to add any stuffing to the seat. Even after I explained that it was causing a lot of pain and the chair was unusable.
He first tried to say that wood is supposed to stick out on the arms along the inside. I told him I wasn't referring to the arms or the inside of the arms. The seat, it causes pain because you can feel the wood frame under your thighs along the sides. He then said that is the way the chair is supposed to be, if you lean to one side more, you will feel it. I advised him that the call center said that he would add stuffing or restuff.
He then advised me that the LB call center lies to customers all the time. They promise all kinds of things that the service guys will never do. Including restuffing the chair. He said it was up to him to determine if any work needed to be done and he had determined there is nothing wrong.
It took him less than 5 min, with only sitting in the chair 2x for less than 30 seconds each time to make this 'determination'.
I was pretty put out considering I have had LB recliners for over 2 decades and never once had a problem getting them serviced or have stuffing added in. Had it done twice to my father-in-laws recliner. And I have one that's 15 yrs old sitting right next to the new one and it didn't have the seat issues this one did.
I asked him about the springs sticking out where the lower back is, he felt around and reluctantly agreed to put a little stuffing over them.
But for the rest, apparently LB can't be bothered any longer and their employees constantly lie to and mislead customers, according to their service guy.
A chair that cost over 1k that is still under warranty and can't even be used and all we got was the big ole middle finger. This will be the last time we ever purchase from LB.
Save your money....
Read moreGlad I listened to my 90 year old mother who said, "If you're going to get a recliner and a couch, be sure you get it from La Z Boy". Mom's recliner is +25 years old and still looks and functions perfectly. So, my wife and I, AND our Australian Shepherd went to our local Goodyear La Z Boy. There we were met by Holly Winger, an interior design consultant and within about 2 minutes we knew we had someone who could be trusted and who had our best interest in mind. You should know, I hate shopping, but my Aussie and I actually had fun. We picked out an Astor power recliner that's absolutely heavenly to sit in and we hoped it would help me recover from an anticipated shoulder surgery. My wife also picked out a Norris couch with manual recliners on each end. We selected durable cloth fabrics in a color that matched our other furnishings - knowing that customizing and Covid were going to delay delivery. Holly promised that it would be worth the wait and she was so right. I can't wait to get home to my chair after a long day of kayaking or hiking with my Aussie. Only my wife can hold me more softly and sweetly. Our dogs share the covered couch with my wife and we're a happy, little family. I should also mention that we actually made several trips to the store in making our selections and we conversed with all the staff. Everyone was so pleasant and professional - even the manager whom I feared because I had brought our dog into the store. So far, Mom was right about La Z Boy. I'll update you in 25 years if I make it that long. Happy...
Read moreWe loved our La-Z-Boy furniture which we purchased in 2021& but realized that our recliner fabric was flawed. We had scheduled a technician to come to our place but unfortunately his truck broke down. I was panicked because we were leaving town the next day for 6 months & our warranty would be expiring but I talked to Holly Winger & was assured that La-Z-Boy stood behind their product & because of my circumstances La-Z-Boy would honor my warranty. I was so relieved. I was able to have a technician come this past summer & he agreed the arm needed to be replaced on my chair. This past week a technician came to my house & delivered the arm but unfortunately I felt the quality wasnât up to La-Z-Boy standards. I called Holly who listened to the events that happened & she was professional & compassionate. Holly talked to her boss, Richard Storey & both agreed the chair needed replacing. Thank you Holly for all you did. I feel La-Z-Boy is lucky to have you! Whenever I called, you responded right away. I appreciated that when I couldnât get hold of a certain department Iâd call you & youâd have the department call me. I loved that you kept communication with me. You are very good at representing La-Z-Boys customer service. With a lot of companies thereâs no urgency to take care of customers but not La-Z-Boys staff. Thank you again Holly, I really appreciate your kindness & efforts on my behalf in solving my problem. Youâre very good at what you do. Sincerely, a very satisfied...
