May 20, noonish. This has never happened to me. I’m on a tight time schedule today. I need new knees, I have so many steps, before my knees shut me down. And I’m old, can you say pelvic floor issues. If you know, you know. I stopped at this location, because this store is not as large as the others, less effort to shop. Time is not my friend today! I got all of my items, and the bathroom is calling me. I find the bathroom, leave my buggy at the entrance, to the back area. Do my business, and wash my hands twice. I come out, and my buggy is gone. I search the entire area, nothing. I was not in that bathroom, long enough, for anyone to assume my buggy was abandoned. I had no idea, what or why someone would take my loaded buggy, but it was gone! I head up front, looking down every isle checking. I get almost to service desk, the other end of the store. I see my buggy and a guy pushing it. I pop a uturn and backtrack. I finally catch him in the jelly isle, 2/3 way at the other end of the store. My basket is all but empty, alls that’s in it…is 10 cans of cream of chicken soup, in that top lil basket at the front. I said, hey, that’s my buggy. He says, ohh I’m sorry. I thought someone just left it. I said, At the bathroom entrance? I had to use the bathroom. He said, I’m sorry, let me.. I was dumbfounded, and looked at him, It was by the bathrooms. Can you imagine me taking that buggy in the bathrooms? That’s not an option. Where was I suppose to leave it? I said, No, I’ll do it myself. I was not nice. Repeat, The buggy was by the bathrooms, wth. All that shopping for nothing! I don’t have the time or knees to do this again. I’m not happy, so I go to b”@&$. I asked the service desk, who do I B too. The woman says, what’s the problem. I tell her. Then young man comes by, standing behind me off to the side. He’s explaining to another employee what went down. She waves her hand and dismissively says. “Don’t worry about it, let management handle it”! Seriously…acting dismissive? My full buggy gets taken, and it’s nothing. I say, “Don’t anyone worry about it, I’ll call the 1800bitch number.” I left the store. Yes, in a snit. I’ve got crap to do, with those items I have to reshop for. I’m sitting in the parking lot, regrouping. I called another grocery store on Broad. I explained my situation to them. I got confirmation my order is ready. There’s other stores. I haven’t called the 800 number yet. But maybe the general public or Kroger management can tell me how, I can protect my buggy at bathroom entrances? Do I need to make a sign, “BUGGY IN USE! I’m using the facilities.” Maybe this could be a side hustle, buggy in use signs?

Visiting the grocer isn’t what it use to be. Dodging panhandlers in the parking lot, dodging that same family that’s always trying to sell me fresh banana bread, navigating carts with broken wheels, a butcher who sort of knows about meats, a floral department that doesn’t take orders they just sell what the truck brings in, a confusing number of store managers, searching for the bar code on a box of cookies because you know - even though you hate “self check out” - that’s going to be the only line available, and you want to be sure your products bar code is on that cookie box before you get in line and hold every one up. The Kroger on Great Southwest has entered the Brave New World of 21st Century super- marketing, not so super but very brave. Here’s the way it is customer, take it or leave it. We are semi-automated, which means that since technology is taking over many aspects of our grocery mart, our employees are trained to work the machines as opposed to being knowledgeable in the products they are selling or being skilled in the customer experience. Have you seen the lines in self check out at this store - it winds down all the way to the middle of the frozen foods. People kind of shuffle forward while balancing food stuffs in both arms. Why? Because customers are not efficient in Krogers confusing self check out automation system. Now imagine, a skilled checker working the register and getting people through the line… it’s massively more efficient. I spend maybe $400.00 a week on groceries, well at least that’s what I give my wife and she tells me it’s going to groceries. We go to this Kroger to support our neighborhood. I have those old school values of community. There’s a Tom Thumb down the way. I’m gonna give them a try, the last time I was there - an employee helped us take groceries out to our car. That’s service.

I’m extremely concerned about the ongoing condition of the dairy section at this Kroger location. For over two months now, there has been visible mold spread across the cooling section of the entire dairy area to the tea— and nothing has been done about it. This is a major health concern. Mold in a refrigerated area where perishable food is stored poses serious risks, and it’s unacceptable that this has gone unaddressed for so long. Customers deserve to shop in a clean, safe environment, and we should not have to worry about the possible contamination of cheese, or other items. At this point, it’s time for a health inspector to get involved and conduct proper testing of the air quality and product safety in that section. I strongly urge management to take immediate corrective action — not just surface cleaning, but full remediation — before this leads to illness or regulatory action. If nothing is done soon, I will be filing a formal complaint with the local health department.

Today the manager at my local Kroger store did not extend to me customer service, but outright prejudice and disrespect. I am a professional and have been in management for years. I have been shopping at this grocery store for over 30 years, even before this store was a Kroger. When I got to Kroger on I-20 and Great Southwest Parkway in Grand Prairie on April 3rd my Guide Dog and I went to the customer service counter and asked for shopping assistance (since I am visually impaired). Then we stepped out of the way to wait for an employee to help us shop. After waiting over 10 minutes The manager of Kroger approached me and introduced herself as the store manager. (As if her title gave her the right to be rude and offensive with her ignorant words). The manager told me that Kroger would not be responsible if I bought anything that I might be allergic to. I said I don't understand, what is this about? So she firmly and clearly restated that Kroger would not be responsible for anything that I may purchase that could be harmful to myself. This harsh and demeaning disclaimer was delivered even though I had not yet even been helped or made any purchases. I stood and waited another 5 minutes . At this point I decided I no longer wanted assistance, having fully digested the personal attack on my intelligence and ability to shop for myself. It seems the Kroger manager had prejudged that I was too stupid and unable to make wise purchase decisions for myself and in her boldness also thought that she could demean my intelligence and get away with it (since I am visually impaired). I decided to leave and take my business elsewhere due to this reprehensible treatment by the unnamed Manager. So I headed to the front door. Where I was met by my wife who had completed her Walmart shopping and was coming to pick me up. At the same time the young lady that was coming to help me shop asked if I needed her assistance. I said no thank you and asked if she would convey to her manager that I was offended by her assertion that I was not competent enough to make my own shopping decisions. Since she felt the need to single me out and disrespect me in such a manner. And then the manager showed up and I gave her both barrels and said I would not be treated with prejudice. I had not been offered customer assistance but prejudged because of my disability and been blatantly disrespected and I would never be back. I asked the manager’s name and she replied Crystal. On second request she included her last name. I advised i would never be back...

Today was the worst customer service I’ve ever received. I encounter two rude employees today, one at the service desk and another one at the meat counter. Something tells me that this must be a management issue because everything always starts at the top. Let me start with I’m standing at the service desk and an employee just totally ignores while unlocking a door to the service desk area. She proceeds to go to a back room and close door. So at this point I’m not sure if she works in the service desk since she never acknowledge me by letting me know that she’ll be right with me. So I proceed to the self check and ask an employee if the service desk was open. By this time the same employee that ignore me shows up behind the service desk. At this time I proceeded to head back over to the service desk and I actually mentioned to the employee that I was just standing there. With an attitude she proceeds to tell me that she had to put something back. I feel like she had an attitude because she knew what I was talking about without me even having to school her on customer service. Still with an attitude she return my item with no customer service whatsoever. Then I head over to the deli department. So then I encounter a young who is diligently sweeping behind the counter.I’ll give her the benefit doubt maybe she didn’t see me but then when I asked her if anybody was working in the deli department; with an attitude she says I am. Of course she serves me with an attitude. In fact while getting my lunch meat she yells to a co worker to turn off the lights in deli department. So I ask what time the deli department close and she tells me at 8 o’clock pm. I look at my watch and it is 6:47 pm. She was nice enough to let me know that they were closing early due to people not coming in to work. After encountering these two employees, it appears they are miserable working at Kroger or H‑E‑B is on their...
