Heritage Inn — Hotel in Grand Prairie

Worst motel experience ever. Beware bed bugs. I have been going to this motel for 6 plus years. I used to go for convenience and affordability. The house keepers were so erratic. Some days they'd go wake us up at 7 to "clean" the rooms. Id wake up to cockroaches roaming at night. All they'd do is throw the trash and make the bed sometimes. Id ask for new sheets but hed claim theyd only change the sheets every few days. You can't walk on the floor without shoes or socks because the floors are always sticky and dirty. They never sweep and mop. I got scabies on one of my visits. My last visit I asked for a single bed but because of some accommodations they upgraded us to two beds and I asked will I be charged the extra and they said no, so okay. The following day I wasn't in the room when they changed the beds and I checked and they were dirty so i asked for new sheets and the owners wife said I needed to pay the extra for staying since they're losing money, note ive been a client of theirs for years every month giving them business. So i said no im not paying and they said they have other clients so they dont care and if I wanted my room cleaned "I NEED" to be in there when they clean. I told them about the scabies and that its my fault why come back, point made. I told them id only pay for the nights i was there but not for the ones I was going to but they said no refunds eventually they didn't up charge me and gave me sheets for me to MAKE MY OWN BED. In summary don't go rude & bad management, they dont clean their sheets or towels or rooms, dirty, their "continental breakfast" is stale bread, and loud parties....

Stayed in this hotel on 10-5-13. I am an over the road trucker, and the lady behind the desk told me I could park my truck anywhere in the lot. So I took three parking spaces next to each other, which blocked another rooms parking space. This is unavoidable with an 18-wheeler(tractor only), which the lady was aware of. Sometime before check out, someone keyed my truck, from front to back. There was another trucker staying at the this hotel, who informed that the people staying in the room next to mine had a conversation about truckers taking up too much space, and talking about complaining to the front desk and threatening to leave in order to keep truckers from blocking their space. I called the police, and when they arrived, they checked with the front desk to ask about the video from the video surveillance system. The lady said to come back later around 6pm as her son would be in by that time and he knew more about the surveillance system. I did as instructed by the police and contacted them again after 6pm. The lady's son stated that there was no activity around my truck during the hours of 10pm to 1am, but refused to allow me to see the video myself. The police said they could not force the hotel to show the video without a court order, but the lady's son (owner) said no. I am left with a huge key mark over my truck, and no satisfaction. This hotel obviously caters to its long term renters, and does not care about parking lot security for the rest of us. I wouldn't stay here again if it were the last hotel on earth! ...

At first we were pleasantly surprised, but the one star review is being generous.

We arrived very late, almost 11 at night and were very happy to see late check out accommodations. The over night clerk made a phone call, without prompting, and then waived the late check out fees as a courtesy for us arriving so late. We did not ask for this, and were prepared to pay the fees, happily.

In the morning we were awoken just before 10 on the room phone being told that since we did not pay the late check out we would have to leave immediately.

After explaining that we didn't ask for the fee to be waived and would have paid, we were still told to leave immediately or the police would be called.

No wonder their lobby is closed and they only operate from a window. The room was mostly clean, but they do have roaches. Badly enough we had to shake out our bags before leaving to ensure none traveled with us. Also, we checked for bed bugs and hopefully we were lucky, but this place is the red flag of motels 0/10 wouldn't even recommend...
