Yes, it was their opening weekend when my family of 6 showed up to eat. We got a table right away and waited a while to have a waiter come to our table, but such is to be expected when you are overwhelmed with hungry families coming in to enjoy a BRAND NEW PLACE. This is NOT a fast food place. It takes time to properly cook the food to ensure that it is done right. The service needs some improvement, but such can only get better once the staff acclimates themselves with the demands of opening up a new food establishment and training the staff on the protocol of a new system and method of placing orders for the kitchen staff to prepare the respective food for each party. Please note that we ordered calamari, catfish platter, hamburger basket and a Combo #1 Boil which comes with clams, shrimp, crawfish, sausage, potatoes, & corn. OMG the food was amazing. Much better than the Krazee Crab or Fish City. With such an overwhelming amount of people that showed up for their Grand Opening, there were bound to be some hiccups in service. I know when people are hungry they also get angry, so pretty sure that those who wrote the 1 star reviews were probably very "HANGRY" and impatient to get waited on so they could eat. I get it.....but like I said, this is NOT a fast food place. You must be patient and wait for the boiled food to come to you cause it is definitely worth the wait. They also have a bar inside and daily drink specials which is also good. Their food quality and quantity is impeccable and I applaud their owner in adequately researching for the right vendors to supply them with amazing food. If you are in a hurry to eat from this place, then call in your order, but if you want to hang out with friends and/or family for a while as you wait to get served, you will be pleasantly surprised. Please give this place a chance to prove itself and don't crucify it as they have just opened and have discovered that they got an overwhelming response to their place that they didn't expect. It is hard work to prepare for hungry people as we all know when we have company in our own homes. This new place has my vote for BEST Seafood Boil around. YUMMY! Don't forget to ask for your gloves & bib. You will get...
Read moreAfter passing by this place for the last few months, we decided to stop and give it a try on a recent Saturday evening. Went inside and were warmly greeted and quickly seated. Ordered appetizer of calamari with fries and some adult beverages. Drinks were the best part. We both decided we wanted to try the lobster rolls, pictures on their site looked good so we were excited. Sandwiches are very pricey compared to other restaurants at 20 a sandwich without any side but were looking forward to trying them. After 20 minute wait waiter comes back and says that they only had enough lobster for 1 sandwich, ok no problem i would order the wings. After food came it became clear that what waiter should have said earlier was that they barely had any lobster left and we should both probably order something else. The sandwich they served was honestly pathetic and looked nothing like their pictures online. Looks like they scrapped together lobster bits and hoped no one would complain, definitely not worth 20 dollars mkt but we are not ones to complain. We ate our food which wasnt bad taste wise. However the atmosphere quickly made me lose my appetite. It was a busy crowd that included families with elementary school age children so imagine our shock when the way too loud to talk music playing over the speaker system suddenly was blaring gangster rap music with some horrifically explicit lyrics. Suck my !$#, lick that p#$$%, n!##@$ fu#& you etc etc....I immediately got up and informed the young man at the counter that this was inappropriate considering the children present including my own 4 year old. The choice of music was either blatant disrespect towards customers with children on the part of the management or willful ignorance and immaturity on the part of the staff who picked the music. Regardless we quickly paid and left. Will not be returning, the food is pretty good however there are much better options available...
Read moreMy suggested as she knows I love Cajun food, there aren’t very many places that serve good Cajun I haven’t tried, so I was shocked that I never heard of this place before. Three things I’m big on is service, flavor & value . The service was great no issues there, keep it up. Maybe update your online menu to match what you currently offer in the store. Unfortunately they no longer had the gumbo that is advertised online, I was not happy because that’s what I wanted to try first. The flavor was 50/50. I ordered the Cajun pasta. It was very bland, lacking any cajun kick. I ate a couple bites & my wife could see the look on my face. So we switched, she ordered the fried catfish basket, this was actually much better than the pasta. The batter had flavor, was not flaky or falling off the fish, the fries were good too. Nice job on the flavor of the fish. Now the value is why I’m writing, because 1) the fillets were small, looks like they cut an actual fillet in half. 2) The pasta was served in a microwave container, m first impression was as if they took 3 lean cuisine of the shrimp fettuccine Alfredo & combined in one dish & chopped up some sausage on top. 3) The price of the pasta was the next expensive item after the boil. It was FILLED 90% with pasta. I have enough for the rest of the week. For that MAJOR thumbs down. Perhaps the best value is in one of the boils, we didn’t have time for a boil or I would’ve gotten that. I’m willing to give benefit of the doubt, bad night, new company, recently opened & give it another try only to get the boil, hopefully that’s the specialty, but that’s going to be the deal...
