On Sunday, August 16th my husband and kids went into At Home Furnishings located on I-20 Service Road to purchase a patio umbrella. My husband asked the young lady who was there if they had anymore 11 footer's in a box and she said the only one they had left for the color he was requesting was the one on display. My husband then asked well since it's on display is it possible for us to get it at a discount? She said no we can not give a discount for products that are on display. He said okay, no problem we would like to still purchase it. As she was going to get what she needed to get the umbrella down, my husband noticed the umbrella was damaged, bent and scratched up. My husband was still willing to purchase the umbrella as it was, but brought to the young lady's attention it was damaged and showed her the damages on the umbrella. The At Home Customer Service Representative then told my husband either you want it or not, I don't have to even sell it to you. My husband then told her, never mind with an attitude like that you can keep the umbrella. This type of service is unprofessional and unacceptable. This matter was brought to the manager and district manager's attention the very next day of this incident. They were very apologetic for the actions of this individual and vowed to address this issue with this young lady which we appreciate. The mere fact that we are returning to this store to replace an umbrella that broke less than 4 months of it being purchased, only to be greeted with a customer service rep with this type of disposition and lack of professionalism is truly disappointing. I doubt seriously with this type of service we will be returning, but if we should I sincerely hope the managers (Dewey and Denise) whom I spoke with this morning will be able to help this young lady, along with the other staff members understand the concept of professionalism and customer service. As a customer service representative these are two important elements that should always be displayed and given when dealing...
Read moreWhat a frustrating experience it was to shop at this poorly managed store. Even though there were signs throughout the store stating 75% off on items with the red clearance tags, after I spent 2 hours gathering more than 2 carts and $1,000 worth of merchandise I was told by the checkout person that they wouldn't honor the sale price because it wasn't coming up on the register. When I asked for a manager he said that they sale ended the day before, and even though it was their error to not take down the signs and there was no dates stated on the signs he would not honor what was stated. I was so mad that I decided to take my business elsewhere, and a woman who said that she worked at the corporate office came up to me and decided to interject herself into this. She stated that they wouldn't honor the pricing, but "would let corporate know." As I was leaving the employees were high fiving themselves behind me - very professional.
I have spent over $10,000 per yr here, and I know they can look it up because they take my phone number every time that I shop. Prices are higher than at other stores, but when you are staging 5+ houses at a time if I can find items on sale it can be worth it. No more. I ended up going to HomeGoods and found a much better look for less money and they appreciate...
Read moreThis store has major customer service issues. I was on the hunt for new cappuccino mugs for my new machine that I got. I went online and found them for $9.99. We placed the order online for in-store pick up.. NO WHERE on the website does it give you a time frame so after about an hour I called to store to see about my order. ... Who answers the phone a very disgustingly rude woman I didn't get her name she answered my questions and slammed the phone in my ear. So my husband and I drive down to the store and I speak to a manager she apologized about a thousand times and said hold on ill go get your order and she also said to me with in 2 hours you will have your order which is doesn't say on the website. So she goes to get my order puts it in a bag something told me to look at the item and low and behold 2 glasses were missing.. so I walk up to the supervisor thst helped me and right away she says I gave you the correct upc. I pull out the items from the bag and showed her the missing glasses and she says o lord I have no luck with you then she takes the defective item from me and gives me a good one. What right did she have to say that to me? This was my very first time placing an instore pick up order and I can promise you it will be the last time doing that and shopping at...
