I stayed here 3 nights. It looked like someone had sneezed or coughed their food up on the wall of the elevator. It was there for 2 days before we saw someone cleaning the lobby near the elevator and brought it to their attention and they finally took care of it.
Also we chose this hotel strictly for the indoor pool with hot tub. My kids play in the pool and my wife and I very much need the hot tub after a long day at 6 flags cuz we hurt bad. The hot tub was maybe 5 degrees hotter than the pool and the jets were so weak they barely moved the water. Plus the bottom of the hot tub is stained green from algae build up from not being taken care of at one point or another, but it was not slimey or dirty now, just gave off a nasty feel because of the color.
Each room is only stocked with 2 towels which makes no sense for a 2 queen suite. We had 4 people and had to ask for 2 more bath towels. Sadly when we got them back to the room and I had already showered I opened one of the towels to find they gave us bath mats. So I had to dry with a bath mat because they couldn't be bothered to make sure to give us bath towels. Who needs 2 more bath mats???? So my children got the nice comfy big bath towels and got to scratch my skin up with a tiny bath mat.
After all of this I still tried to stay another night because I really didn't want to pack up and move to another hotel as I was starting to have heart problems and severe swelling in my legs and feet and barely able to walk. I could not drive the 8.5 hours home. I wanted to use points for another night. Front desk lady told me she couldn't look those up or even see points, all of it is done on the app. I let her know the app showed no reward nights available. So I was just taking a chance on her being able to push it through. If she would have just left it at the app knows what they have and they didn't have any I would've been content with that. However, she chose to let me know to call the customer service number and let them know I'm currently staying at the hotel and want to use points for another night and they can easily push it through for me. I figured she knew what she was talking about, so I called. I spent 35 minutes on the phone with the rudest people getting a run around that included calling the front desk lady to see if they even had any reward nights available. They came back to rudely inform me that the front desk lady let them know that they don't even do reward nights on weekdays and that if they did it would be 15,000 per night which the customer service said I only had 13,500. The front desk lady wouldn't even look in her computer for me because she swore they couldn't see any of that. But then knew it all once they called. So it was a huge rude run around for absolutely nothing.
I ended up paying for another night at the Avid hotel a couple towns over toward my route home and they were absolutely amazing. They even rushed our check in, asked if they could get me ice for my feet or extra pillows. And they even informed us that we had plenty of points to stay another night if we needed to and to just let them know. Candlewood Suites needs to learn a thing or...

Read moreI was weary staying here with the mixed reviews. Some are 5/5 and some are 1/5. I thought I’d give it a try. I stayed one night and I will never stay again. When I saw my room for the first time it had a kitchen in it and I thought wow that’s nice and the room looked nice but after a couple hours things went bad real fast. The dishes in the cupboards were not clean. The white strainer had orange food residue on it almost Mac and cheese looking. I did not use any utensils after seeing that. No water in the fridge, but I brought my own water bottles. The entire hotel had a musky smell to it. My niece and I stayed the night there and went swimming. The pool was ok but the hot tub smelled like sewage water. We were only given three towels in our room. After we were done swimming I asked the guy at the front desk for more towels. He said they ran out and I would have to get them at 9am tomorrow morning. First of all what hotel “runs out” of clean towels??? Our towels were wet and gross from the pool and we both wanted a shower with clean towels after that nasty hot tub. I let my niece use the last towel to shower while I had to sleep and smell disgusting. I noticed another review similar to mine regarding the towel situation. A party of 4 were staying and they had asked for another towel and the front desk told them the same thing, that they would have to wait until 9am to get more towels. My guess is that they are cheapskates trying to save money on laundry which is why they only allow you a total of three towels to a room. There was also an odd frame on the wall with no picture in it. It almost looked like it was supposed to be a mirror and it broke so they took it out and just left the frame on the wall. Overall this place was gross and the staff was not helpful in the slightest. Also our bathtub did not have a drain stopper. I called the front desk to let them know because my niece wanted to take a bath. They also charge your card $25 up front in case there are any damages to your room. I told the front desk I didn’t want them thinking I took it, we weren’t given one. He said ok I’ll make a note and hung up. He didn’t even offer to give me a plug to drain the tub with so my niece who wanted to take a bath had to take a shower. I will never be staying here again. Very thin walls you can hear everything, kids running up and down the halls, sounds and cars from the highways, loud music. I couldn’t go to sleep. They also allow dogs and I did hear barking. Trust me when I say this DO NOT STAY HERE. Do not waste your money. I wish I would have paid more attention to the bad reviews, they are 100% correct. Save your $ and go...
