PeeknPlay Grapevine — Local services in Grapevine

We had booked our daughters birthday party at the Frisco location back in September 2023 for a November party. We had visited the location since it was new and were told it was set to open Oct 2023. Leading up to November the Frisco location was posting pictures of other parties so we assumed the location was fully functional and hosting. 10 days prior to our daughter's party WE CALLED THEM to clarify a few last-minute details, and this was when we were told the location had not passed inspection and we would need to move our party to another date or to their other location in Grapevine. Had we not called, they were planning on waiting until the week of the party to let us know there was no party as they were waiting for 1 final inspection! With zero other options in Frisco and family coming into town (so we could not change dates) we were forced to drive to the Grapevine location and change from a Saturday to a Sunday party.

While the location in Grapevine itself was fine and we made the party for our daughter very enjoyable and memorable, I wanted to note the lack of communication and customer service. Leaving it until the very last minute and even in Grapevine the two young girls working that day had zero clue that there was no balance on our account and tried to charge us full price the day of the party. Again, no communication between the customer or the workers there the day of the event.

I’ve been following their page for a couple of years now and think the whole idea and aesthetic of this place is so cute. We finally went for the first time last week and I was disappointed to see that it was FILTHY and so run down. The ball pit looked like it had never been cleaned, there were uncovered outlet plugs in the play area, no dolls or toys in the giant dollhouse, just furniture. And the worst part was there are little doors to one of the shops and they’re different sizes so like a dog door, cat door, mouse door. They don’t open but have knobs on them. Two of the three were missing the knobs and have exposed screws sticking out into the walkway where kids are running. Paint is peeling and worn down everywhere, a ton of toys are missing pieces. It’s a cute idea but you can tell no one really cares to keep it clean or cared for. They had one employee just checking people in and the place was PACKED. Easily had 30-40 kids in it within an hour of opening. A lot of children were unsupervised and running around everywhere knocking each other down. It was crazy. My children and I go to play places multiple times a week so they’re used to it but within 30 minutes my four year old was ready to leave because it was just chaos and honesty overwhelming. We much prefer Play street museum where they have a limit to the number of children allowed in, they have multiple employees going around picking things up so children can play and really use their imaginations, and they have a much...

Cons So we had originally asked to do an ad on time of an extra 30 minutes for an additional charge and were told we could not do it. We then sent out the invitations including the times to all of my children’s class. And then a few days before the party they called us back and asked if we would like the additional time. We explained that unfortunately we already sent out the invitations and everybody was already aware of that so while we appreciated their telephone call it didn’t work out for us. Once we arrived there was a problem with the food and it was delayed, not their fault. Be aware they do not provide the food, so we asked if the time was available. It appears that The time was available but then the owner overrode the store staff and told them that they could not give us that time. Certainly it was their prerogative to do so but I feel it was because we didn’t take it in the second place. I know that they did not have a party for a half an hour after hours so that time would have been helpful to us.

I think that if we had not had the issues with the food which was not their fault, then everything would’ve been fine. This is why am giving them the three-star rating. I just don’t think I would schedule another birthday party there because of the back-and-forth so many times.
