This last week the white board by the door said to leave a review. So here it is... honestly this gym needs a lot of help. For starters the gym is dirty and does not get cleaned very well, the giant wet piss stain under the mens urinal and overflowing trash is proof. Also the ventilation in this building is horrible. Its always musky and damp and the front windows are fogged up which makes it smell like a used sweaty gym bag and the mens room always smells like someone just took a dump because of the lack of air movement. The staff needs help as well and they know it. What your running resembles more of a circus then a fitness program. Sure staff might be getting praise that they are doing a good job, but I challenge them to look at where the praise is coming from, first time gym goers that have never seen what a great personal trainer looks like. I bet if you required your staff to read Unlocking Potential by Ben Bergeron you might see things turn around. Look I get it your a small gym, constrained by the lack of space, budget, and time, but in my eyes that should make it easier to manage if your priorities were aligned. Where is the strive for improvement, what happened to quality over quantity. You say you were voted best gym for years in a row, I say in comparison to what and why? How have you grown? What happened to your dream? And why have you compromised your integrity and values and replaced them for the dollar? For $60 a month I expect more then what your giving. I first started coming to this gym thinking that I could warm up to a small gym and it's atmosphere. Believing that it might have more experience and community. The fact of the matter is I have not felt the inclusion or sense that I belong there. I personally have been ignored and have witnessed others that are in the same boat. It has the vibe of a good Ole boys club, where if your not one of them, then your not worth their time. I wish that I didn't have to say this but I regretfully will not be paying for another month at this gym. I wish you all the best...
Read moreI first began my workouts with Chris a little over a year ago under the premise that I wanted to get into Law Enforcement and needed to work on my physical strength as well as my stamina. Chris was supportive throughout my application process and would always adjust my workouts depending on the physical requirements of a pending application, fitting my needs and current condition with the best and fastest workout possible to achieve success.
I am very pleased with my work with Chris and since I began with NoCo Fitness I have gotten my dream career in Law Enforcement. I truly believe that NoCo Fitness is better than CrossFit or any other workout routine found online or DVD simply because those programs are generalized for everyone where-as NoCo Fitness will ask your goals, assess your current condition and create a custom routine to fit your needs that will gradually get you to where you want to be without killing yourself on some generic program doing a workout that doesn't even help you.
I would recommend NoCo Fitness to anyone and everyone who wants to get healthy or stay healthy. With a personalized routine to help you achieve or stay at your goals you won't ever feel left behind when you are dying in front of the TV trying to do 50 push-ups when you don't really need them to achieve your goals. Chris is a great trainer who works side-by-side with you and I believe he only feels like he succeeds when you do. I will continue to work with Chris as I advance through my career for many years to come.
All-in-all?...
Read moreAfter working out at this gym for almost a year, I had to update my previous review, as my opinion of the gym has changed. This gym is filthy, the ventilation is terrible, and it almost always smells bad. It has actually smelled so bad that I have gagged. The only reason I stayed with this gym for so long was the convenience of how close it was to my home. But I ultimately switched gyms, despite moving across town, because I no longer wanted to be associated with this gym. The equipment is old and the gym could use some serious updating. The bathrooms are absolutely terrifying. I would dread having to go in there due to the consistent horrible smell. There is no culture at this gym. The trainers get high praise but they aren't working with actual weightlifters, mainly seniors. Which is fine and I am glad that they offer training for an older demographic, but nothing that would appeal to me as a "younger" weightlifter. Overall, the gym is never too busy and I rarely had to wait for a machine. But the trainers often had their trainees taking up 2 machines at once, which in result, took up unnecessary space. Personally, I would not recommend this gym. The price point is way too high for what you get in return. I would be ashamed if this was my gym and I am glad that I have left this...
