Let me start by saying all the employees i have interacted with are so nice!
The downside of this practice and the reasons i wish i had chose elsewhere to have braces and all the recurrent appointments and care... Since getting braces in Jan of 2018, i have met 2 or 3 different orthodontists. The 2nd had a different plan of after care than the 1st. The 1st said my upper lip frenulum needed cutting after removing braces, it was never done and i was told that in fact it didnt need cutting. Now fast forward 1.5 years since getting braces off and because of the way my teeth hit together my permanent retainer popped off. No biggie, i honestly didnt like it anyway, so i am okay getting a clear retainer to wear all the time. My issues with the current spree of appointments is that i have a career and not a free open schedule of an adolescent. I go in for an appointment at the beginning of Jan thinking something would get fixed, but apparently it was a consult for the permanent retainer. I was told to come in on Feb 2nd and the 3rd for the first available appointments to fix the permanent retainer and a tiny gap. The week before I get a call saying the orthodontist would not be in office 1 of those 2 days. I say no biggie, just fix the permanent retainer on the available appointment and we'll call it a day. I go to that appointment and the tech says they can do the original plan if i want to come back next week for 2 appointments. I really wanted my small gap fixed, so i give in and schedule those next 2 appointments on the 9th and 11th, keep in mind this appointment on the 2nd was now 100% a waste. I go in to the appointment where they can fix my gap and i am told basically we have a new plan. At this point i am just like just do whatever you need to do. They did their thing and told me to come back in 2 weeks and see if the gap has closed. Now it is the 10th and i am so over this process. I am thankful the gap is getting closed but the office schedule is getting ridiculous. The orthodontist has 2 days a week in office and neither are consecutive. The original plan is not even an option because there has to be 2 consecutive days for me to come in. At this point we are hoping and praying the new plan works because the schedule does not allow for whats needed to be done to get done. As much as i love the employees in this Greensboro location, I wish i had went elsewhere to get braces a...
Read moreA few attachments fell off of my invisalign trays. The thing about Invisalign that I love is it's already a pretty self sustainable process (hands off for the most part on the ortho side) unless something happens that requires their professional assistance. I'd experienced this before, so I was aware that I should set an appointment asap to have the attachments replaced. In my previous experience with the Winston Salem office (my home office which has been great), it'd be as simple as making an appointment to be seen as soon as possible. I was in the Greensboro area this time, so I called this office to schedule an appointment to have the attachments replaced. The receptionist was very kind, helpful, and set up the appointment. Minutes later she called back and told me that the ortho team that was in at the time didn't constitute my situation as an emergency due to them being short staffed and this instance not requiring immediate assistance and that I'd just have to wait two weeks until my next scheduled appointment. I was extremely disappointed to hear this for several reasons. First, this explanation contradicted the advice I was given the first time this happened. Consistency in any medical practice is paramount, considering patients are blindly trusting the advice. Secondly, I'm aware that both locations are short staffed, but the same way I'm not important enough for today's situation to constitute emergency for them is the same way their staffing inefficiencies are not enough for me to place my several-thousand dollar orthodontic treatment on the back burner....which leads to my last and most important point - I did not feel like a priority, which is disheartening considering I'm a faithful paying customer who's never late. I gave 2 stars because the receptionist was very kind and...

Edited-- Great service here depending on the situation*
I lowered my rating because if you go at a busy time the Doctor rush the meeting with you. Also the Ortho didn't answer all the questions asked, she diverted or didn't answer my question at all. I get it was busy, but every patient matters.
During this appointment, I had to keep asking about a possibility in changing to braces (I'm on invisalign right now) bc the invisalign was not giving me the results needed. In fact, it was messing my teeth up more bc my teeth is a more "complicated case" ( her words). When I was already almost done with my treatment (about 6 months left, she made a comment about the way my teeth is going and then left to go to a different patient. I had no further explanation or comments from her. I kept asking the assistant questions about my treatment, bc she was the only one there after the doctor left, but bc she kept going back and forth between us, Dr. Chen came back in which we scheduled a reconsultaion appointment.
I'm a little upset over this because I originally wanted the braces so it can be better manipulated to properly help my teeth move.
So essentially I am going to end up putting more money into it than I expected bc I have to change over my contract.
Good luck everyone and ALWAYS ask questions or get a few consultations done before deciding...
