Visit other locations, TERRIBLE customer service, especially at print service desk! I went in today to simply have some documents printed out and I stood at the counter as the attending associate carried out a conversation with who seemed to be the manager on duty. I respectfully let them finish the conversation as I overheard the associate be told “you don’t have to empty the trash, someone is already working on it”. The associate then proceeds to leave the counter without a greeting or acknowledging me to follow around the associate already working on pulling trash and does nothing. During this transition, another customer who entered the store but was NOT in line came to the service desk and incorrectly entered the line beside me as I waited, but with me already standing at the register previously alone I figured it wouldn’t be an issue. The associate then sees a line starting to develop and she returns and asks “How may I help you today?” The customer who approached the desk after me ceded the way to me and as I stepped up to talk, the associate said to the customer after me “what can I help you with?” while I was still talking and she says “this customer was here first” which was incorrect. During the whole exchange, I didn’t receive any greeting, a request to wait to be assisted, I didn’t even get any eye contact when I was rudely cut off when she spoke to me. I just walked out the store and headed to another location nearby. Luckily I was assisted by who seemed to be an area manager at the next store (who was able to assist another customer AND myself simultaneously with no issue and the UTMOST respect) and as I was informing him of my issue with the Church st. location, the customer nearby who overheard me says “I don’t go there either, it’s always something like that going on over there” yikes. Although that’s the nearest location since my usual one recently closed, I’ll gladly travel the extra distance to avoid that bottom of the barrel customer service in the future. I definitely would’ve looked up the customer service number and called this in if I had happened to catch the name tag she was wearing but apparently this location has a reputation for complaints as the manager I spoke with informed me he knew exactly who to talk to in order to address this complaint. I never would’ve received this from my...
Read moreA very poor experience to say the least. Enter the store and chose a case of paper that was "on sale" Due to my not reading the sign correctly, when I checked out the paper was MUCH more expensive than the sign. When asked, my attention was drawn to the highlighted line I had missed "with a $150 purchase" Certainly my mistake, but the tone and attitude of the associate left much to be desired, probably should have left then, but I pressed on. I took the case of paper back to the display where I had picked it up, and headed to the back of the store for a different case of paper that was less expensive. All the paper seemed expensive! Much more expensive than I had been told by my coworker she had found online. So I went online, found the cheaper option and looked. When I found nothing I asked for help from a different associate. He said that the one I asked about was only available online. When I started to ask a second question he interrupted to ask "Do you just want our cheapest paper?" I didn't respond to his question but asked about a separate case of paper that looked alot like the one I had picked up first. He said yes, it is this one. I said the one that is on sale with a $150 purchase? He said yes. I said, but the website shows it for $17 cheaper. He said, "just tell the associate to give you the online price." BUT WAIT, it gets worse. I walked to checkout, and the same unpleasant associate rang up my purchase, changed the price to the website price, but before she could take my payment, she had to have a price override. She calls for the override and I wait. Who shows up? The guy who had just told me to tell her to give me the price on the website!! But instead of walking me to the front, knowing he would have to approve it, he waited and because of this, so did I and the associate checking me out. I dislike shopping at office supply store because regardless of which brand or location I go to, this is the common occurrence. Coupons that have "stipulations", specials that "aren't very special" and associates that act as if you are a problem to be dealt with, not someone responsible for contributing to their paycheck!! A very horrible experience, but pretty much what I expect from Office Depot ( or any other office supply...
Read moreI ordered electronics online and received a loss prevention email. I went into the store and both managers assisted me very kindly even though I was a little frustrated. I appreciated this more than you know. Where I became completely upset is there was a young man behind the printer counter that was typing his (school)paper on company time. I saw a 30 day calendar I wanted to purchase and brought it to his register for him to continue typing his paper as if I was not there. I did say I wanted to get this. He said one second as he continued to type. Another customer came up behind me bc she had been waiting on prints. He acknowledged her and gave her the printing he had and went back to typing his school paper. He never rung me up. I left the calendar on the counter, I got my electronics the manager got for me and left the store. I didn’t say another word. For future references do your schoolwork on break/lunch or at home. How unprofessional me as a customer have to be overlooked bc you are more I to you schoolwork than the job you came to Office Depot to do. Next time I will be driving all the way to Battleground IF I decide to shop with Office...
