I've been here many times over the years, but the past few times have been disappointing. There's some man working in there now who insists on slamming empty beer bottles in the trash behind the bar. That is totally unnecessary. Also, I went in today around 1:10pm and met two of my adult children. Once we decided what we wanted, I went to the end of the bar to order and stood there without being acknowledged. Moved closer to the middle, again, not being acknowledged. The female bar back was very attentive to the men sitting at the bar, drinking beer. Finally, a gentleman at the bar called out to her to come take my order. Then, as we were having lunch, an elderly couple came in with two of their grandsons, probably a special outing before school starts. They went and sat at a booth, never acknowledged. After several minutes, the elderly lady walked up to the bar, never acknowledged. She stepped over to our table and asked how to order since no one had come to their table. I explained to her that you have to order at the bar. She went back to her party, and then they all left. By this time it was probably about 1:50pm. There was no lunch crowd by this time. When I paid, I told the female that she just let 4 people walk out the door and lost that business. She replied "Yeah, I saw them over there, and was going to get over there, but...." I told her the service today has not been good, and I guess you have to be a man sitting at the bar, drinking beer in the middle of the day to get service. The food quality has gone down a little over the years, and the prices have gone up. The prices that are on the wall do not match the prices that are online when you scan the QR Code that is on their napkin holders on the table. Another example for poor work ethics and...
Read moreSo I'm not from around North Carolina in the slightest but I took a walk down to Fishers from my hotel nearby to check out the food for a takeout order. Right off the bat the prices are almost unbelievably cheap so I wasn't sure what to expect. I got my food promptly and took it back to my hotel. The chicken Philly is awesome as is, but at $5 bucks or so for the combo it's insane. Anywhere else in the country this is a $10 meal, minimum, if not more. The fries were still crunchy and hot despite me walking it back to my hotel. I went back the next night. Got the philly again but also some wings. Despite the wing shortage putting the prices up a bit it was still 100% worth the money. They were juicy and the buffalo sauce was solid. It wasn't just franks hot sauce like so many places cop out with. Finished off the feast with a Fisher's homemade bar. It was clearly homemade and packaged in a ziplock. Whoever is making these bars, good Lord, they're delicious. I'm a once a day type of eater but after this awesome meal for basically free I could probably stand to skip...
Read moreI came into this place for the first time with my service dog and my husband. We were expecting to enjoy a cold beer and a nice lunch at a locally owned restaurant. The bartender who was working in the middle of the day, a middle aged woman, was so rude to my registered service dog. She said we were not allowed to be in there with him, which is against the law. She was the only person there that had a problem with him, as the entire room of customers were admiring my dog and wanting to pet him and get pictures with him. So the bartender ruined it for us, I wish I could remember her name so she could be reprimanded for her actions against the ADA regulations but I am doing some investigating as to make sure this doesn’t happen again because we would like to go back for the food, as it was delicious and very fairly priced! We each had the Philly cheesesteak and hot chips and they were perfect for a lunch portion! get some new bartenders here...
