Disappointing Return to a Beloved Brand
My recent visit to this Cook Out location was, unfortunately, a stark contrast to my fond memories of the brand from my college years. After many years, I was looking forward to revisiting a classic, but this experience left me with an overwhelmingly negative impression.
The experience began poorly at the drive-thru. The staff at the window were terribly rude, lacking any semblance of customer service. My hopes were that the food would make up for this, but the poor service continued when we moved to the walk-up window. Despite the restaurant not being busy and there being no line, three employees stood near the window, seemingly engrossed in their own conversation. We waited for a full nine minutes before our order was even acknowledged. The lack of attention to a waiting customer was unprofessional and incredibly frustrating.
When I finally received my food, the quality was just as disappointing as the service. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, but what I received was a tiny, meager chicken breast on an overwhelming amount of bread. The chicken itself was completely flavorless, and the meal was an overall letdown. To make matters worse, I had a stomachache after eating, which only solidified my negative feelings about the food's quality.
This was, without a doubt, the worst Cook Out experience I have ever had. The combination of rude and inattentive staff with subpar, unappetizing food made for an entirely regrettable visit. I will not be returning to this location and would strongly caution others to consider...
Read moreThe cookout on Summit Avenue had to be one of my worst choices that I could’ve possibly made for my food needs. I pull up to the outside ordering menu and then I proceeded to watch six vehicles order their food on the inside lane. So after calling out a couple of times I pulled around to the window. Where I see not a single employee wearing a mask. This should’ve been my cue to pull off but I had wasted so much time that I had to be back to work soon. So I ordered my food with a huge Coke and after a few minutes got my food left and went on my way. To my surprise I should’ve known that it was only going to be downhill from the beginning with all the waiting I open my burger wrapper and my sandwich was smashed and falling apart the corn dog was overcooked the fries were the only decent thing about the meal. I was hoping as I stuck the straw into the cup that some nice satisfying Coke would make me feel better about this catastrophe of a visit to cookout but sadly the Coke was watered-down and did not taste at all like the normal cokes I get from cookout. Highly dissatisfied and sad I wasted my lunch hour and money for such poor food. Do you your self a favor and go to the cookout on battleground or another...
Read moreIf I could give it no stars, I would. Terrible customer service and very rude. I get it was busy but it's important to tell me what I'm paying for. I ordered 3 meals on separate tickets cus I was ordering my coworker, my manager's and my lunch. When I got to the window, the girl just held her hand out the window. I gave her my manager's cash for his food and told her that it was for the 1st order. Then I gave her my coworker's card, told her it was for the 2nd. I handed her my card for my order. Then she hands me my manager's meal and my coworkers meal and told me to have a good day. I was waiting for my 3rd order aka MY food, but nothing. She opened her window up and asked what I needed and I said my 3rd order. My card got declined, my fault, so I had to cancel the order. But as I was driving away, I was wondering why she swiped my card the first time if the 2nd time was when it got declined. This was my 2nd time at this location and my last. They messed up both times as the 1st time, they didnt even get the order right. Of course, I couldnt go back to fix it because I was on the clock. Terrible service. What's up with cookout services in Winston Salem and Greensboro? High point has been the only good...
