The Schiffmanâs experience is nothing short of first-class. Karolyn and the staff are always welcoming, hospitable, and prompt to help every customer.
On top of all that, the Rolex buying experience is truly special. When I first visited to express interest, Karolyn spent well over two hours educating me in their dedicated showroom on the company and all their different timepiece models. By the end I had settled decisively on the Daytona in Oystersteel! That was the easiest part though; getting one was the real challenge.
This required months of patience, but Karolynâs determination and Schiffmanâs great rapport with Rolex were the real difference makers. I believe their commitment to Rolexâs integrity - and their obsession with the customer experience - put them in one of the highest standings with Rolex, and therefore at the top of their distribution list.
When I returned to purchase my new Daytona, the fitting process was arguably even more impressive. Karolyn and Tyler dedicated another two hours to educate me on how to use and care for the watch, and to ensure it was adjusted to fit perfectly! The one thing I am sure to remember from my lesson is to always keep the crowns completely tightened down if not using any of the features; failing to do so and submerging the Daytona could result in exorbitant damage.
To sum it all up, Schiffmanâs truly does treat their customers like family, and they are more than worthy of Rolexâs âPerpetual excellenceâ stamp. Thank you so much for such a wonderful buying experience and for getting me the watch Iâve always wanted!
UPDATE: I recently revisited and purchased another timepiece - an Omega Seamaster. Schiffmanâs has a great stock of this diver model watch (with an attractive price range), and so far itâs been perfect as my daily wear. The rubber strap is extremely breathable, and the overall design is sportier than the Daytona. Now I have two watches, so I also purchased a winder to preserve the time on my Rolex while Iâm not wearing it. Again, Karolyn was extremely helpful in explaining all the details and nuances between models. She was also the one who recommended I purchase the winder, which is anti-magnetic, since Iâve technically started a collection. I left extremely happy and confident about my...
Read moreWe are a sentimental family and treasure our late families memories and personal jewelry they left behind. While they are "family heirlooms ", they were not costly or valuable to anyone but us. This Christmas, I brought two watches to Schiffmans for battery replacement. One watch belonged to my late niece (passed recently at just 32 years old) and the other my grandmother. When my Grandmother passed in 1994, her daughter, my Mom, inherited her Timex watch. My Mom has worn it everyday since Granny Kerr's death. When the watch stopped working at Christmas this year, I brought it to Schiffmans Jewelers. I explained to staff that I knew"time had probably run out" for the 45 year old watch but if it could it be fixed I trusted them try to. I would pay whatever was necessary. I could have sent my Grandmother's watch to Timex for repair but I knew , because of it's age, that Timex would simply discard it and send me the equivalent by today's standard. I received a text message telling me that that one of our watches was not fixable and not to worry, was safely returned to the store and would remain there until I was able to pick it up. The second only needed a battery. My son and I were shocked to see the beautiful yet carefully wrapped package containing a watch that no longer works. As we opened the package, the wrist bands sparkled under the show room lights and in the faces of both watches, cleaned and polished inside and out, we caught our smiling reflections. Both sparkling as though brand new, but you can see the little marks of wear after two generations of wear ( 45 years old); my neices' watch , also looked brand new despite being only a few years old. Instead of replacing the scratched covers and worn wrist bands, the jeweler cleaned and polished the inside and outside and removed the battery to avoid ruining the inside body of my grandmother's watch and replaced the battery in my nieces'. They provided a priceless service yet did not bill me. For a jeweler to recognize "value" in an item without gold or silver or diamonds and jewels and provide the same care to your belongings is rare. Exceptionally rare. Exceptional service is priceless. Schiffmans Jewelers provides both. Thank you...
Read moreI have taken jewelry to Schiffmanâs in the past for cleaning and repair and been pleased with the work, so I expected the same when I came in today to see about having a silver Tiffany necklace cleaned. Iâve had this necklace for 15+ years and while I recognize it isnât the caliber of most of the jewelry Schiffmanâs sells, it is very precious to me. It was mildly tarnished all over as pictured in the photo, as silver this pure doesnât stay clean for long. I was recently laid off and wanted to wear my necklace to a job interview.
The red-haired sales girl â I didnât catch her name â actually turned her nose up at my necklace when I took it out. She did that judgy little exhale through her teeth and said âItâs SO tarnished, I donât know if we can do it. If we can, in that condition itâll be a charge, let me see what the jeweler saysâ and took it to the back, then came back and said because of the âconditionâ itâd be $75 because theyâd have to âreally workâ it on the polishing wheel and it would take a couple of hours.
It genuinely was not even that tarnished, and a chain like this canât be put on a polishing wheel. You put it in cleaner and maybe a sonic bath. It was clear they just didnât want to do it, which was fine, but there was no reason to lie. I wasnât comfortable proceeding with the service after that. She said I could try getting a polishing cloth on Amazon until I got back on my feet.
The whole exchange was insulting and left me crying. Like I said, this piece might be beneath them, but it is everything to me. I would have been more than happy to pay, but the attitude was entirely unnecessary. I took it to a different jewelry store nearby and wouldnât you know it, they put it in a sonic bath and cleaned it, free of charge, in about 5 minutes while I browsed. I will be going to that store for any future jewelry needs, while Schiffmanâs has ensured I will quite literally never set foot in there again. It costs nothing to be kind and can affect someoneâs opinion of you for a...
