I drove about 40 minutes from Mebane to State St. Jewelers to have my engagement ring resized, and I am not disappointed. I chose this jeweler because it had the best reviews by far. I walked in wearing my engagement ring ony right pinky, and Brit was so friendly and helpful from the start. She took my ring back so the jeweler could look at it and make sure he could resize it. When she brought it back to me she said the jeweler had noticed some raised and sharp edges on the prongs, and said he couldn't leave the ring like that and wanted to adjust them and smooth down the edges if I would be ok with it. At that point I knew I had come to the right place, because that was something I myself had noticed and wanted to ask about. I knew with this much attention to detail, my ring was on the right hands. Brit then told me that if I drop the ring off that day (Friday) it would be ready by Tuesday. She could sense my unwillingness to be without my ring for the weekend, so she offered for me to come back on Tuesday, and the ring could be ready the following Friday. I told her that I would leave the ring that day, but that I was visiting family that Sunday and was hoping to be able to show off the ring on the proper finger then. She said she would let the jeweler know, and maybe she could have the ring ready for me the following day, Saturday, but more likely not until Tuesday. She texted me 2 hours later to inform me my ring was ready! Because of a cell phone glitch, I didn't get the text, but this said volumes for their customer service. Definitely would recommend this jeweler! The ring fits perfectly, and there is no evidence of the resizing, everything is seamless! Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
UPDATE: After having my engagement ring resized, I decided my next step was to work with Brit to custom design my wedding band to fit next to the engagement ring, which has 3 oval aquamarine stones each with diamond halos. I talked out several of my ideas for the wedding band with Brit, and mentioned I would like to incorporate turquoise in the band, since that is one of my birthstones. We talked out several variations of the band, and ultimately she said she would help me make whatever band I wanted, but highly discouraged the turquoise idea since turquoise is a soft stone and would not likely withstand the test of time as well as some of the harder gems. Ultimately, we had the artist draw out two designs, one with diamonds to complement the halos on the engagement ring, and one with turquoise inlays. The artist's rendering was exactly what I had in mind, and I chose the design without turquoise, for simplicity. We decided we would move forward with that design, but because of life, it was another several months before I was able to put down a payment for the jeweler to start making the ring. Brit was awesome, and remembered exactly who I was every time I came in, even after several months had lapsed! I got my engagement ring back within a couple of days of dropping it off to make the mold, and the band itself was ready within the week. Knowing how excited I was for the band, Brit elected to text my fiancé instead of me when the ring was ready, so he could surprise me - and even though the surprise was nearly ruined by an automatic review request sent to me, Brit covered beautifully for my fiancé and I got the surprise of my life when I arrived home from work that day. Brit is definitely a gem, and State Street Jewelers is lucky to have her! And I am even more lucky that she was available to assist me the first time I walked through the door! She was so helpful and patient with me even though I pestered her constantly for updates. 10/10 High class establishment. Would recommend anyone to go there for any and all...
Read moreDON'T BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE! Recently purchased a Rolex deep sea from state street and was sent home with the wrong paper work. I was under the intent that it was a full set. I was excited and wore the new watch out. They put my old rolex in the box and broke the clasp. Had to serviced at another store. I had traded three watches and some gold coins in for the sale and paid some cash on the deep sea. They called and told me that the paperwork did not belong to that watch but to another watch and they did not have paperwork for the watch that I had purchased and wanted me to send back the paperwork to them. So I decided to unwind the watch and return it for what I had exchanged back. The property of mine that they sold. They kept the money they made off me and gave me another lower price what was sold for. Never given a real apology for breaking the clasp on my other watch or for the inconvenience. I live an hour away from the store. It took two hours just to exchange back for my original property. They sold me a watch under false pretenses made money off of me, broke my other watch and kept the extra money. What a complete nightmare!!! Your apology was sorry for the confusion. And you most certainly did break the clasp on my watch. She closed the box and then turned around and said, oh, I'll let you do it after she had already messed it up. You guys are lars, and I can't believe that you would come on this post trying to save face. You can't believe that you're actually calling me a liar. Why would I make all of this up! You certainly didn't make things right? you ought to be ashamed. You definitely deserve the criticism and the one star that you received. Admit you deserve the rating and move on. Completely...
Read moreMy wife and i loved this shop and the staff. We had a ton of work done, as well as a custom pendent created for my wife. Let me be clear, all that work was done to 100% satisfaction, and all work we had done was 100% our satisfaction. The issue I want to warn about is this. We moved, in the process of moving we had left some stuff behind that was repaired as well as something customized with gold and silver. Without us asking, while in the middle of moving they shipped it and said it was signed for. I never received it, we asked them to verify it was delivered as well as find out who signed for it. Never once did they contact me with this information, however they did keep sending me a bill for items I never received. On top of it all they added interest each month to the balance.
I gave up waiting for them to do the right thing and find out where his package was and deal with an insurance claim seeing it was missing. So now we are out 2 watches a custom bit of work that was silver and gold. In total close to 2k in value not to mention sentimental value of my wife's fathers watch gone. This has been going on for 7 months, and while I do love the work and the staff, they should have handled this better and worked with me to find where a package I never asked to be shipped went.
Had they waited until we settled in and did not have 50 people coming in and out of our house this could have been avoided.
So please use them they do great work, but before the love of god do not have them hold something until you are in a position to deal with it.
Clearly we moved out of state so we will not be back, but this did taint our view...
