Super friendly people who know how to make a great impression to customers. I just went there for the first time and it DEFINITELY WON'T BE MY LAST TIME! I was greeted like family, the good family member, and I was so impressed with the freshness of the deli and bakery items they had, and it seems that they have some of EVERYTHING. The assistant, or manager was also very kind and really made me feel at home. AND the cashiers..... oh my goodness, they ACTUALLY WORK, were super duper friendly and the rest of the staff were just as friendly and helpful šI had to use the handicapable cart to get around, which was charged up and ready to go and that is something that I have a great appreciation for during this time while waiting to get surgery. Also ALL OF the handicapable carts are charged, and look almost new, and right at the door ready to use, for those who need them. They didn't look beat up&down, and even when I went back with a friend, they had enough to go around and you DIDN'T HAVE TO BE TOLD to "try the other store, wasting your time, energy, gas etc only to get to the other ---Mart and find that not only do they NOT HAVE A WORKING CART,BUT YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE 1 THAT'S BEING USED BY SOMEONE ELSE..I have been to a certain store and actually ran into someone who was told to go to the other store and they couldn't use the 1(one) working cart because the other 2(two) carts were broken and THEY HAD TO WAIT until after the person using it was done. I even went back 2 days later and they were STILL NOT FIXED..I ALSO LOVE THE FACT THAT THEY WAIT ON YOU, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND..I USED to love the Mart BUT for some reason they thought it was a good idea to have self service lanes.... if you thought the cashiers were inefficient then.. even in the 1 working handicapable cart I was looked at and passed over by persons that act like they don't see you. If I wanted to work at your store, I would apply, I would LOVE to make $ just to stand around and gossip, the only ppl that ever helped were stocking shelves, other than that, you were on your own. If you want to get service with a smile, or any type of service, instead of seeing 4-5 people standing around talking about each other and others business, which is very unprofessional, I strongly suggest you go to Lidll's because you won't be ignored and you won't have to do the job that people are being paid to do that you ARE NOT getting paid for, then go to Lidl. You WILL BE TREATED EVER SO KIND, AND RESPECTFULLY AND YOU WILL get just as great deals as OTHER PLACES that don't seem to appreciate their customers. For ALL OF THAT, I give them 4/ā stars, the 5th star is because of how they DON'T TREAT, or ignore said customers....I have DEFINITELY FOUND A GREAT, NICE NEW PLACE to give my hard earned money to, and I'm sure that you will LOOOVE being TREATED as good as the good old days. I implore that you give them a chance to show you how and what REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE CAN BE AND WHAT IT IS LIKE TO...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday I dropped by for a few items. I checked out but just as I was leaving, I remembered that I forgot hotdog rolls. I immediately asked the clerk the location and proceeded to pick up a pack. Mind you I was in an electric cart because of my handicapped status and I placed the one bag I had just purchased into my cart.
I returned to the checkout with my bagged items and I wanted to pay for the buns. One person ahead and two people behind me. Now the new clerk asked me if I had paid for my bagged items and I responded yes and I thought that would be the end of it, but no. He then asked if I had a receipt. I responded I had and I produced my receipt. He then begins to scrutinize the receipt and I told him I was not a thief. It was his demeanor and attitude that started my blood boiling. I said if he really thought I had stolen he could go check the surveillance camera. He responded that would take too much time. So he would rather insult you than do his job since he stated that was all he was doing. I then told him I would never shop there again. Mind you, this clerk was black as I am. The lady behind me decided to chime in that he's the best clerk at the store blah blah blah.
I left the store with my purchase fuming and I stared this woman down as she gave me the side eye as if I had done something wrong!!
As I got almost home I immediately put my car in reverse and headed back to the store to return everything!!! Upon my arrival, I encountered the woman who originally waited on me and asked her to recount that I forgot an item. She affirmed and apparently the second clerk had informed her of the bad encounter we had. She proceeded to explain that "most people using the electric carts steal!". Shut my mouth!! I was hopping mad then and proceeded inside to return ALL items.
I encountered the second clerk who was waiting for me. Along came the white supervisor who told him to return my items. He started to leave with the bag and I immediately stopped him and told him to check off every item against the receipts so they know I in fact returned items. I then stated to the clerk if he wanted to return to Jim Crow era, that was on him, but I refused. He displayed a biting of his tongue so to speak and told me to have a good evening.
What they don't know is that I am a former assistant to an Article III Judge, a Presidential Appointee and have no need to steal. I have never felt more humiliated and insulted in my life. THIS IS CALLING ALL BLACK PEOPLE TO BOYCOTT BECAUSE THEY REALLY THINK ALL BLACKS...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen this place first opened, it was very quickly one of my favorite places to shop. Good prices, a wide selection of random finds, and the meat and wine were always reasonably priced. Things have shifted as inflation has creeped up throughout the years, but that's understandable. You know when you're going to a store like this or Aldi, you won't always find the same selection of things every week and that's the trade off. The staff was always friendly, and willing to help where they could. This was around 6 or so years ago. Now, the story is very different. Everyone that works there looks like they hate their job, and some have even verbalized it. I don't know if this is corporate or if this is franchised somehow, but all of the quality people that worked there are gone, everyone looks stressed and stretched thin, and their customer service is DEPLORABLE. From various visits - if you ask for help, you're treated as such an inconvenience that they are one step away from rolling their eyes. They come up with a ton of excuses as to why they can't help you with a simple task and it's basically a "figure it for yourself" situation. A worker was stocking and I excused myself and asked if I could grab something off that shelf, the person turned around and just walked away from the isle looking irritated. A bottle busted out of hand because the top was loose, and since I had to wash up after cleaning up the mess, I asked one of the workers if they could grab me another one and put it in the front for me. The worker looked me in the face and said "I don't know where to get that and I would have to look up a list to figure out the isle and I have to ..." and I said "it's all good, i'll take care of it" and let her walk off. My unsolicited advice to this company or franchise is, your people are STRESSED, and are not trained. It's driving away your customers, since now the price is no longer substantially different than any other place. If you want your business to remain open long term, invest in your people and maybe do an audit of your staff, including management. Because if your people HATE working there, your customers will hate...
