Old Colony Furniture — Local services in Greenville

I’ve written my fair share of glowing furniture store reviews and they have all been well deserved. But I hate to say this, they all fail in comparison to our latest furniture purchase, well my daughter’s furniture purchase that is. We went into Old Colony to look at one of our favorite brands, Archbold. Old Colony is the only authorized dealer for this brand that’s closest to us, unfortunately, my daughter didn’t care for their styles so we went to at least 5-6 places in the upstate until she found this particular brand, Hooker. There was a store in the upstate that carried the brand, but not the model she ended up buying. When we went into Old Colony, we were met by a lovely lady named Sue Camlin, a former NJ native and we just hit it off. Sue also mentioned Hooker and the Affinity line. While she didn’t have it in the store, she had it in one of their warehouses. She made arrangements with her team to move the pieces to the warehouse closest to the store so we could see them in person. Edward (the owner) took us over and my daughter loved the set. Not only were we treated with the most upmost respect, we got the best price! My daughter was just about to order from one of the largest furniture stores in North Carolina but when Sue asked the price, she and Edward were able to beat the price handsomely!! Our delivery went without a hitch, Tye (the lead delivery man) and his two helpers treated our home as if it was theirs. On delivery we noticed an issue on the bottom of the dresser and when we contacted Sue, Edward told her how we could remedy the issue. I have nothing but great things to say about Old Colony Furniture, a true family establishment in the Greenville area for well over 75 years. They match prices and they deliver right the first time. I am certain in the next year or so we will be buying a new Sherrill sofa and loveseat to replace a Decor-Rest set we bought from another Upstate business. Expect high, but fair prices for this level of quality. This is top quality furniture built by some of the most highly skilled artisans in the furniture business. Stickley has been producing some of the best American made furniture for over 100 years. Their furniture typically improves in value over time, and lasts generations. You can still find the original Stickley pieces furnishing the Grove Park Inn of Asheville, NC over 100 years after being purchased and placed in the hotel. It is great stuff, and old colony exhibits pride in offering it at fair prices. You can find bargains in the back room on occasion, but this establishment is focused on high quality products and premier levels of service.

Old Colony was a big disappointment. The furniture I bought had a button to come off the couch and it has yet to be fixed?!?!? The leather chairs were ordered before Covid, so it was almost a year before we got them. We understood that issue, BUT they delivered the chairs and they did not have the correct chairs.😡😡 We spent quite a bit of money with 2 couches, tables, bar stools, and chairs. We had to call CONSTANTLY to get updates, etc. The whole process took the joy out of furnishing our new home. We also needed 2 bedroom suits and a dining room suit. Of course, we DID NOT order from them. We were compensated in no way. I highly recommend you do not shop at Old Colony. The sale person Rick was a disappointment.
