As a visually impaired person I went to checkout, numerous cash registers available however only one running. Get to line area and am asked right away if I needed help in a manner that sounded like I was intruding n upon the entire store attitude. I was then directed to the only register open while many were available making the checkout process longer than what it should had been. A clerk from the store itself was checking out items, going back and forth from the line which i didnât know, made it seem like I was the one skipping line and pushing ahead of her which wasnât the case, I am blind and didnât know she was still messing around with items. Acted like I was the problem. Orange T-shirt girl in the checkout. Finally get to check out, which was relatively seamless the person who did check me out was rather fine. It was the male beforehand with all this whom directed me away to the only line open who was frankly a jerk, seeing I had a cane and glasses one would think the idea would come rather quickly I am not of the general populous. The clerk checking out in front of me with her items was plainly rude and inconsiderate of the fact either. Customers should be on a first come first serve basis and not workers whom are buying items as well, possibly at break time which I cannot say is the real issue, maybe they are allowed to. But customer should always come first. Staff needs training for dealing with those with disabilities and assistances. Very careless rather rude to a degree. Felt like a club I was not allowed to be a part of, drama like. Tension for sure. đ. Better bang for my buck with what I was looking for, just wish it was more inviting overall, dispositions need to change to be more friendlier and...
Read moreCame in because I saw a few books that iâve been interested in purchasing, and the books I got, the prices match what you can get them for at Barnes & Noble, so I canât complain about prices.
I was helped by Nicholas, and he was friendly, however after he was done ringing me up, he asks me what book I would like to donate to charity and completely fails to tell me that my donation is not free what so ever. I thought maybe it was just included with any purchase, or in my case a purchase over a certain amount or something. This donation was not free, and was 9 dollars added onto my original total. Let me remind you, he didnât tell me that this was optional or anything. He just told me: âWhat book would you like to donate to charity?â I noticed a price change on the reader, but I doubted myself because I tend to read things wrong occasionally, so I gave the benefit of the doubt.
Then, he starts asking me if there is a phone number I can use, and I give one and then he just starts signing me up for their rewards / membership program and did not ask me if I wanted it or not and said it was for a discount. Personally, I really appreciate it when sales people ask me if I would like to sign up or not⌠So I read my receipt after my purchase and the membership program gave me a total of: $0.01 off for signing up.
I know some of this can be put on me as a customer, and I couldâve asked if the donation was free or just said no but in the heat of the moment, it just didn't occur to me. Iâm also very used to sales people asking me if I want to or not, which this particular...
Read moreIn all my years of reviewing, this will be one of the worst. Who wouldâve thought a book store wouldâve brung me out of retirement. Aside from all of the vinyl sections being completely disorganized, the store was in complete disarray. A mom left her kid spill her drink on the group but the most unsettling part is they didnât clean for more than the time I spent in the store (15). And to make matters worse, the team was so uninviting. Only one person asked me if I needed help, and even during my transaction they didnât even ask me about my reward points. By the time I asked them about my rewards the transaction went through.
I asked to speak to a manager just to talk about my feelings of being un-welcomed and they directed me towards a guy named Juan. He was pretty nonchalant about the situation and I think thatâs where the teamâs lack of enthusiasm stems from. This is my closest book store so Iâm hoping things really get better. The only reason the store is getting atleast two stars is because of my brief interaction with someone named Makayla. She was the one person to really interact with me, ask me how I was doing, and after they forgot my rewards she apologized for the cashiers mistake and assured me about me feelings of being...
