Target — Local services in Gypsum Township

7p Friday before Easter. All self checks outs closed. Two cashiers and LONG lines of customers waiting. They do returns at the registers now so taking even longer. Two "loss prevention" employees were bored and chatting by the CLOSED self check outs. When I finally got to a cashier, I asked why the self check outs were closed. He said customers were surveyed and they didn't like them. What?! Some do. who did they survey? I saw on the news they were cutting back to 10 items or less which is fine.... but this "survey" info was new. After about 10 minutes of super long lines, they called up more cashiers AND opened THREE self check outs. It's not the cashier's fault management waited so long to take care of customers, I know, but dude was snarky about the self check outs and didn't need to be. 7p on a Friday before Easter and TWO cashiers and no self check out open. I have always had good experiences at this Target store and the employees have always been friendly but one today was kind of rude. We were on the cat food aisle and picked up a bag of cat food that had hole in it and it spilled on the floor. Of course we didn't know it or we wouldn't have picked that one up. A female employee came over and she acted like we did it on purpose. She more or less told us to get out of way so she could clean it up. I have worked in grocery stores before and have had to clean up milk that people have dropped and broken jars of mayonnaise that people have dropped but I was never rude about. I went about my way and was 2 aisles over and I could hear her talking to the guy that was helping her clean it up and she was talking loud like she was still mad. Not very happy about...

I typically have experiences at this target that meet my expectations, but tonight and associate named Courtney went really above and beyond for me. I couldn't get the app to pull up the right information for my Cat and Jack return, she problem solved with me and got me a merch card. I proceeded to lose the merch card while grabbing an item. Came back through her line and mentioned it, she was able to use the receipt from when she gave me the merch card to still get me the "lost" money. I had my toddler with me who was starting to lose patience and she made my whole week with her kindness. I was also excited to see they have self checkout now, and am hoping on less eventful visits to utilize that. Overall I prefer my Derby target to others...
